The KJV has taught me this.

Adam was created as a glorified man, meaning he was clothed in the Spirit as all sons of God will be when they are finally glorified in the new body. His body actually shined with the glory of God who created him in his innocent state. Logic and reason will teach us that the smartest man who ever lived in the OT would have known he was naked, if he actually was, and if "naked" meant that he had no clothes on and therefore no covering before he was unclothed by sin. So for Israel in the NT, as a collective man, the baptism in water in Acts 1-7 symbolized the cleansing power and the outward clothing of the Holy Spirit in whom he was immersed and the receiving of the Spirit was in him as he was in Adam to give him life.

    Glorified beings shine.

One of the major purposes for God's choice of Israel is to make himself and his ways known to the nations. The physical workings of God through them are pictures and types of deeper spiritual truths that God gives by revelation to the submitted hearts by the Spirit. These things cannot be learned by the natural man. This is the reason we have so many interpretations of the same events.

God is in the middle of his efforts to "renew" the glory to his creation that the entrance of sin took away, and nothing can stop him.

You should discern with the Lord's help that Matthew 3:11 baptism is one and the same as happening at the same time rather than referring to a baptism with the Holy Ghost initially and another baptism with fire as if happening at a later time.

You are not going to find an exhortation in any of the epistles for saved believers to be given another calling to seek after a baptism with fire, but instead, you will find warnings in the scripture that speaks against such another calling as if another gospel.

    2 Corinthians 11:2-4 & 2 Corinthians 13:5 & 1 Timothy 4:1-2 & 1 John 4:1-4

You should consider that teaching as stemming from Pentecostals/Charismatics circles as preaching another gospel or another baptism with the Holy Ghost as if that one is the baptism with fire.

Kundalini, an eastern mysticism, do teach meditation and yoga like instructions where participants will experience a supernatural manifestations of joy, peace, fire, electricity, power, etc, that they would continually seek such a phenomenon again and the irony is when saved believers get seduced by these spirits of the antichrist, some will testify that this other baptism is not a one time event but one that can happen continually... just like kundalini.

Some will even assume the phenomenon to be a continual filling of the Holy Spirit that the believer is to continually seek after for another filling, misapplying Ephesians 5:18 towards that apostasy as well.

There is even a book out by an author that believes there are 3 baptisms with the Holy Ghost and the pastor I was working with at Wal-Mart believed that there were five baptism with the Holy Ghost as inferring personal experiences himself.

So that is why you are to be wary of any other calling than the one you have been given that comes at the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ & Him crucified.

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

So I hope in the Lord Jesus Christ for you that if you had experienced something else, that was not the Holy Spirit or whatever you may assume as being that baptism of fire, because you were complete in Him when you had received Jesus Christ.

ChristB4Us, you are posting in a Baptist forum and you state you are a Baptist but you are so far removed from any understanding of the scriptures that any reasoning and logic that I would present to you would be totally lost on you and would be a waste of my time and yours. It is not the church of Jesus Christ that is the subject of Matt 3 and the fire baptism, it is the nation of Israel and it's people. It, the prophecy, is in our future even today and the idea of God is that it will purge out the dross and leave only the pure wheat. The OT prophecies are filled with information about this time and God even has a name for this judgement that appears in 17 different Bible books by 12 different writers and mentioned 30 times in 29 verses until it finally comes after more than 2800 years from his first mention of it. It is always darkness and fire and vengence and the wrath of God upon unbelievers and it is always by every writer in the future tense, even in the NT. The name of this time in the immediate context is "the day of the LORD."
I suggest you make a point to read about it and come back and let's talk some more..

You do not know anything about the prophetic word of God, it seems.

So basically you are saying you do not have an actual rebuttal for the scriptures that reproves you for teaching as you were?

FYI Those that promote fire as a separate event from the initial baptism with the Holy Ghost, also promote receiving power as a separate event from the initial baptism with the Holy Ghost at the calling of the gospel, but this scripture proves them & you wrong.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

That is what Jesus told His remaining disciples to wait for in Jerusalem after His ascension.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

Luke, being the writer of the Book of Acts, as led by the Holy Spirit, then how can you separate fire or power from the initial baptism with the Holy Ghost? You can't. So either you are trying to fit your supernatural phenomenon into scripture or you are reading into scripture what is not there in any exhortation to believers nor churches in the New Testament for saved believers to seek after as if they do not have that fire or power to live as the sons of God.
