    Growing up, I thought the Trail of Blood that promoted Anabaptists and other groups (Donatist, Waldesians, etc) as "the same" as Baptists today.
    I read historians to show each group had some areas in common with modern Baptists but were really "heretics" (their word).
    Then I realized the sources were Catholic so obviously a tad biased.
    But I do not consider myself descendent of Anabaptist; there are still Anabaptists/Mennonites around.
    I proudly give THEM the name.

    I believe Baptists in general benefitted from the Reformation and the "Radical Reformation". But I'm not Reformed or Anabaptist.

    Funny thing is we can look back and label Anabaptists as "Baptists" but it does not work the other way around. They held other distinctives that Baptists don't.

    How bout "anabaptist lite with a Reformed twist"?
