Even in larning him, you were gracious, as you always have been. You and I may disagree on a few things, but I have no doubt of Christ being present in you.Welcome to the BB! I "larned" him.![]()
Watch out, bro. He said nice things about me, too, so obviously can't be trusted.Thank you for the kind words.
Dr. Bob, I have highly respected you over the years. You are consistent, and gracious and you fought the fight and stayed the course. Hence, there is laid up for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give you at that day. And my experiences with our brother Greek Prof from BCM have given me an appreciation for his seriousness and faithfulness. Anyone who served as long as he did in that hard place is one of the best.Watch out, bro. He said nice things about me, too, so obviously can't be trusted.

He said that someone else wrote it about him. For now, I will take him at his word.
We don't work to keep our salvation. We do good works to prove our salvation.Show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith by my works. Works ae the evidence of justifying faith and the evidence of sanctifying faith. When you first accepted Christ, did you believe in Christ "to the best of your ability????" Stop playing games and be honest. We are no more justified by works than we are sanctified by works.
Always cracks me up when Senior pastor does a sound check before the service , and recites the Koine Greek alphabet as his chosen words to check with outloud. I surprised him last time by finishing off that alphabet for himExcellent! I don't have a doctorate, but am working on a DMin right now. But to keep up I translate a verse into English from the Greek in my devotions every morning, and translate four verses from the Hebrew into Japanese every day when I can. You don't just pick up a book on parsing the Greek, or whatever, and become an expert. I took 19 credits of undergrad Greek, taught it three years in Japan and have taught it ten years here to get where I am. I went to Japanese language school two whole years full time to learn that language.
Dr. Kelly has not shared where he got his knowledge of Greek. I'll be waiting, but I don't think he ever took a single class. You can't just look at a book and then know a language. I once had a book, Japanese in 30 Days. I always took a look at it when I wanted a laugh or two. Then there were the Italian brothers who wrote English As She is Spoke.![]()
DTS is "4 points of grace," and is not as "hard line" on it, as My Pastor actually teaches and holds to more of an "Evangelical Arminism" theology viewpointDallas Theological Seminary is Calvinist. Does he teach that salvation does not include faith and is predestined.
