Have you had an opportunity to discuss your concerns with the elders? If so, what response did you receive?Lack of biblical knowledge of the average pew sitter. And preachers that should have spent more time in study and less time talking. I can't call it preaching as that would require that they actually knew the word of God.
Seeker sensitive entertainment, stories , and jokes, rather that scripture? A catchy song leader, or "worship" team? let's not sing the old hymns, replace it with a few chorus 's on repeat, 10 x...is it like that now?Strong preaching of Doctrine has been abandoned or compromised in favor of less offensive, more pragmatic approaches.

Many preachers no longer call their Sermons “sermons”. They call them “talks”.I went to WV some years ago to visit an old Army buddy for a few days. He was a SB and we had already made plans to go to his Church before I left on Sunday afternoon.
When I walked in the Church that Sunday morning they were throwing footballs to each other all through the seated congregation. I asked Greg what this was all about, he said their local High School team were in the playoffs and they were excited.
The preacher began to preach, well he began to talk actually. There was no sermon, he talked at a Sunday morning service for 45 minutes on the history of that schools football team.
To be more clear, this is in reference to most churches in my area. My church is extremely fundamental.Sinking ship is more accurate.
