Oh nooo… not in Georgia!?! New Jersey, yea, but the Deep South.Pretty much sums it up.
The question in the OP - both. How do you see your local church, or churches in your area?
Are they rock solid, or a leaky vessel?
What has changed in your lifetime?
For a moment I thought you were talking about his answer.Politically correct
The South is unfortunately not immune from the pragmatic church movement.Oh nooo… not in Georgia!?! New Jersey, yea, but the Deep South.![]()
Who is talking? Guess then someone can get up there and respond to him then! Like Jesus did, you Pharisee you hypocrite…. Yada yada. Many preachers no longer call their Sermons “sermons”. They call them “talks”.
We have like 40 registered churches here in town. Maybe 4 of them preach the gospel soundly, a handful might accidentally preach the gospel properly, the rest are synagogues of Satan. How do you see your local church, or churches in your area?

Apparently… come Jesus comeThe South is unfortunately not immune from the pragmatic church movement.
Why preach doctrine when that divides? There is a local pastor of a church that doesn't like to take a stance on anything who has coined the phrase "all truth and no grace." If that tells you anything.Strong preaching of Doctrine has been abandoned or compromised in favor of less offensive, more pragmatic approaches.
Sermon does mean "talk" (comes from a Latin word for talk)Many preachers no longer call their Sermons “sermons”. They call them “talks”.
Here is the statement of faith of one of the local churches - it was rather hard to find too.How do you see your local church, or churches in your area?
Are they rock solid, or a leaky vessel?

I've found that most dying churches are in that state because they have lost their purpose and love. Many of the dying churches blame Covid, but I see it as an excuse. The Holy Spirit needs to in dwell.
Nice.. . . 25 piece orchestra.. . .
I don’t understand,….what does a 25 piece orchestra have to do with anything? Who the is the conductor?Nice.
It gives people the opportunity to worship using the gifts God has provided with the congregation. It is good to see God gifting these people and the congregation supporting them by allowing them to use their gifts in worship.I don’t understand,….what does a 25 piece orchestra have to do with anything? I know.Sermon does mean "talk" (comes from a Latin word for talk)![]()
I have 11 "local churches" just in my hometown alone, with some 350+ of differing denominations within 50 miles of my front door. How do you see your local church, or churches in your area?
Them. What has changed in your lifetime?
Take heart! There are people out there who do serve God. I have thought about this before now and have come to the realization that it is more important that good, God fearing people be everywhere than that they have a sufficient number together to be comfortable. We need to be doing something where there are not enough of us to say we are doing a good job.I have 11 "local churches" just in my hometown alone, with some 350+ of differing denominations within 50 miles of my front door.
To me, they are all suffering from differing degrees of apostasy, with perhaps one preaching most of what Paul told the churches in his letters to us.
Them.
It's as if no one around me, ( except for a very few ) truly fears and respects the Lord, nor do they love Him enough to obey His commands... neither are they "listening" to His words.
Definitely. Ran 38 gallons of gas on it yesterday.I was posting a bit tongue in cheek....I thought it funny anyway.
I see Clark's Hill is back up.
