Remembering...

2 Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. - Ephesians 5

If Jerry Falwell Jr is walking in love... It is the strange fleshly self love we see so much of these days. In which is not saint like spirit or behavior.
Remembering...
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight (now at the turn from the sixth to the seventh Day, or seventh and last millennium) there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. -> Yes, go to meet Him, He is arriving, He is not so far away, but very close.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell (Pastors, an Bishops, and Evangelists, among others) and buy for yourselves.-> These are lost for ever and ever, eternally, because there is no other sacrifice for the salvation of souls, the last one was that of JESUS.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.-> These are lost for ever and ever, eternally,

Behold, the first signs of the coming of JESUS are already happening literally, yes, they are already happening -> Matthew 24:3-8.-> From now on, for a period of time there will be only and only pains and marked sufferings, but it is not yet the end, this is just a pre-great tribulation period. Be prepared or else get ready. ->Revelation 16:13-15: -> 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.->like Adam and Eve at the turn of a Day-> Genesis 3:8-10.

I dont see where the RCC is part of this discussion
RCC - Qualifications for sainthood too much.

On the other extreme...

Non-RCC - Qualifications for sainthood too liberal

Middle Ground- A true saint should be able to visit the sick, weak, and afflicted.... With no worries of an outcome such as personal benefit or fornication.
Thanks, Salty. I don't doubt it. I just meant that my own knowledge of the man isn't sufficient to say whether or not he is a saint, i.e. a Christian.

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
13 But every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 Let them alone(Revelation 18:4-5): they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man...

Revelation 16:17-21

17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the CITIES of the NATIONS fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before GOD, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.-> Revelation 11:18, take a look.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed GOD because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Be prepared or else get ready

And another thing that came down from the Jerry Falwell days... The love of the title "Fundamentalist."

Jerry Falwell was a prominent American Baptist pastor and televangelist, known for his strong fundamentalist beliefs and his role in mobilizing the Christian Right into a political force. He founded the Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and co-founded the Moral Majority, a national political organization. - Google Search

Not many honoring the "Fundamentalist" name tag these da

Just to clarify Falwell was a Baptist pastor in the USA - he was not part of the American Baptist Convention.
In fact, later in his years Falwell, affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention!

You become a saint by being born again! Its that simple!
So becoming a saint is very liberal - sure is - the Lord Jesus is very liberal (to give freely) the gift of salvation!
Now sainthood might be something else

Not many honoring the "Fundamentalist" name tag these days. In which any Christian saint wouldn't mind bearing.
I like your post. However, IMO as a fundamentalist, Jerry Sr. left the fold when he decided to bail out Jim Bakker and his "ministry." We fundamentalists have as a distinctive ecclesiastical separation. Bakker was in every way someone who Falwell should have separated from: immoral with bad doctrine (health and wealth "gospel," etc.). I believe there are Pentecostals who can be classified as fundamentalist, but Bakker was not one of them by a long shot.

There should be reasonable qualifications for a man to think himself a saint...

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. - Romans 12

"Should be" sounds nice - but regardless a man who is born again is a saint!
So that individual needs to be discipled!
NO other qualification is needed - only repentance of our sins

I would agree that, as some have said, "saint" is the word for "believer in Christ" after the Gospels. The word "saint" occurs in 62 verses in the NT, and only one of them is in the Gospels (Matt. 27:52). On the other hand, the word for believer in the Gospels is "disciple." However, that word occurs not at all after the book of Acts. This reinforces the interpretation that the word "saint" is the word for saved people after Acts.

8th black in Shen Dian Chuan kung fu, 4th black in Pai Lum Kung Fu, cross-ranked 2nd black in karate and jujutsu (but brown belts in judo and karate without the cross rank, which is often political). Also trained in Wing Chun, Tan Tui, etc.

Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it; That He might SANCTIFY and CLEANSE IT with the washing of water by the Word, That He might present it to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.->Ephesians 5:25-27. -> Amen.

But we are bound to give thanks alway to GOD for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because GOD hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through SANCTIFICATION of the SPIRIT and belief of the Truth: 2Thessalonians 2:13.
Amen.

Which was the hardest for you to learn, and is it true that Kung Fu much more into "eastern religious mindset" than Judo and Karate are?

They have kindly put me on the church security team, but I have not yet been allowed to beat up anyone. :Ninja
We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness OF THIS WORLD, against spiritual wickedness in high places. -> in heaven, heavenly places-> Ephesians 1:3-10, and so on, combined with Revelation 12:3-4 and 7, take a look. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of GOD, that ye may be able to withstand in this EVIL Day(the seventh and last Day, or seventh and last millennium), and having DONE ALL, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13 . Amen.

Well, unfortunately in this day and age, we have seen people go into churches and kill. We do need to have security!

What's your point here? Are you for or against a church security team?
