The phrase "Law of Liberty" is found in two verses in the Book of James, James 1:25 and 2:12. The Greek word translated "law of liberty" is "eleutheria" (G1657). The word appears about 11 times in the New Testament. The reference in both of the verses in James is to the liberty of some kind of "law." However, if we look at the other nine usages of the our word, we quickly find the author of the law of Liberty.

If we look at Romans 8:21 we find (in the NKJV) it is the "glorious liberty of the children of God." Thus the Law of Liberty is our Law as born anew spiritual children of God.

In Galatians 5:1, we are to "stand fast" (adhere to) "in the liberty by which Christ made us free, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.

We are to be a "doer" in the Law of Liberty, serving Christ and not another man's "law" such as the old Covenant. As we are under the Law of Liberty, we are bondservants of God.

In Galatians 6:2 we see we are to bear one another's burdens and therefore fulfill the "Law of Christ."

In summary, we are not under the Old Covenant Law as born anew believers, but under the Law of Liberty comprised to the teachings and commands of Christ. That is precisely why when we disciple others, we are to teach them all Christ commanded.

The possible problem is that when you flip open your discipleship manual, you will not find an appendix titled Law of liberty, listing the specific instructions and commands of our Law of Liberty.

What are some of the precepts of our Law of Liberty?

Luke 10:27 NASB
And he answered, “YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

Ephesians 4:22 NASB
that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old person, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,

As long as we are in this body of flesh we are in a life long battle to subject the lusts of the flesh including deceiving others for our perceived benefit to the Law of Liberty where we consider others more important than ourselves.

Philippians 2:3
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves;
