Has The Perfect Come?

Here are some highlights:

1) "Forthtelling is a form of prophetic expression that involves declaring God's word or proclaiming truth" [quote from internet] as understood from scripture, rather than predicting future events. The practice of foretelling is called sorcery in the OT and is condemned. When you see the word "prophet" in the NT, think "forthteller", not "foreteller."

2) Perfect is presented as obtaining complete knowledge, which will come when we enter the New Heaven and New Earth. But even then we will continue to learn. :)

3) You must read scripture in context, rather than ripping things out of context.

4) Pastors should lead people to the truth of scripture, then encourage them to study, and meditate and gain their own understanding, rather than sell them shiny things, like clever ways to increase funding by manipulation.

5) Unknown witnesses are within our local assemblies, we need to adhere to God's word so as we might influence those we are not even aware, just as we were influenced by those we observed when we attended church.

6) Carefully consider where we spend our resources, time and money, and take action to eliminate what is unwise.

7) He liked Star Trek Voyager.

8) We need to dig into God's word because many false teachers are among us.

9) The Holy Spirit unites, lies divide.

10) The Pastor's job is to equip the members such that they use their spiritual gifts in the ministry of Christ.

No mention of Christ being the "Perfect" which as come, or that we, as born anew Christians, have been made "perfect" in that we are holy, blameless and united with God.

Only two of the gifts were said not yet to be perfect.
Verse 9, For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

James had previously explained, Verse,1:17, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Paul didn't yet know, per, verse 12, For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

2 Corinthians 5:8, We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

He now knows. Per 1 Corinthians 13:12.

The gifts of the Spirit are both good and perfect. James 1:17, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

The saved will be face to face when they become present with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8, We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
