The Greek preposition, Kata G2596 is used several times in conjunction with an individual's faith. Here are some of the verses, Matthew 9:29, Romans 14:22, Titus 1:4, Hebrews 11:7 and 11:13.

Used literally to show direction, the preposition refers to being under something. Used metaphorically, it refers to being in some way under the influence of something, and in our case under some kind of influence of faith.

Matthew 9:29 NASB
Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done for you according to your faith.” Here God's action is a consequence of accepting the person's faith as righteousness.

Romans 14:22 NASB
The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is the one who does not condemn himself in what he approves. Here the person's faith is according to their own conviction, rather than something given or commanded by someone else.

Titus 1:4 NASB
To Titus, my true son in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. Here Titus holds to the same faith as Paul, thus one of those brought into kingdom with the help of Paul ministry. Thus, according to their common faith, Titus is one of Paul's "children."

Hebrews 11:7 NASB
By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Here we see Noah received a blessing from God, as an heir of righteousness, which is according to God's acceptance of the individual's faith.

Hebrews 11:13 NASB
All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen and welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. Here the Old Testament saints had died, while still firmly believing in God's promises, that they were citizens of a heavenly country.

Summary: Our faith is our own, and if God credits our faith as righteousness, He bestows blessings on those striving to live according to faith, such as granting access to the grace of salvation, Romans 5:2.

It seems to me that every time Paul used the word "faith" or a derivative of it "believe, believed, believes, etc" he is speaking directly of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Mainly what Christ did for us through the Cross.

Yes, when Paul refers to faith, he is referring to our faith and trust in the promises of God, which includes our heartfelt commitment to follow Christ. Lip-service faith or faith lacking actual deeply rooted commitment is not in view.

In all 5 verses where the phrase "according to faith" appears, the Greek word translated faith is the noun "Pistis" G4102 in the "accusative singular feminine" form.

I believe the #1 desire of Paul was to bring salvation to all he could reach, the reason he kept pushing forward to the end.

Once he brought that salvation he kept in contact preaching sound doctrine to guide the born-again in Grace while following Christ.

The reason why he told the Corinthians, when I come I want to know nothing of you but Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Another Gentile prepared beforehand for the salvation of the Lord.

According to His foreknowledge He knew this Gentile would believe and made all the preparations.

Salvation is all of the Lord!

Why make such claims without citing any support from scripture?
Did you define what "prepared beforehand" meant? Does this refer to being supposedly chosen before creation?
If so, that is secretly introducing a destructive heresy

Why introduce "according to His foreknowledge" without any support?

This thread presented explicit support for this premise:

We gain access to the grace of our salvation through faith. And that faith is according to our own conviction, rather than according to an outside influence. Romans 5:2, Romans 14:22

Great observation! Thanks!

Jesus said He had not "found" such great faith in Israel. Here the idea is to find by chance. Matthew 8:10 and Luke 7:9 also indicate Jesus marveled, or was surprised to find such great faith. But some reject the plain meaning, and claim Jesus expected to come upon this person with Great Faith. I kid you not.

IF we all had inherit faith in us, then we would be meriting our salvation by making the "right choice to now believe"

Please address me and I restate why our faith merits nothing, it is God who turns a sows ear into the silk purse of "saving faith" when He alone credits it as righteousness. Faith not credited merits nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our worthless faith may provide our access to God's grace, IF God credits our faith as righteousness, otherwise it merits nothing.

Did anyone see the phrase "inherent faith" in the opening post? Neither did I.

What is "inherent faith?" Lord knows.

Do the "Lost" have the innate ability to seek God and trust in Christ. Yes, but some lose their ability, by the hardening of their heart, like soil #1 of Matthew 13.
