How does someone put a tree stand within line-sight of the U.S. President?

It shouldn't be possible for someone to be able to do so but that's apparently what happened. Is the Secret Service competent to protect President Trump? Is it incompetence or is it deliberate?

Trump recently attended the Ryder Cup in New York. As I was watching him walking about I couldn't help but feel that he is needlessly putting himself at risk. I think he's far too "out there" in terms of cavorting with the public. Leftist violence is at Himalayan levels and I'm very concerned that the Secret Service will again leave Trump vulnerable to a leftist nutcase who will take a shot and maybe not miss.

The secret service found the hunting stand in their security sweep prior to DT’s departure. I’d say they did a good job.

For all I know, some bowhunter might've put that stand in place before the site for this year's Ryder Cup had been chosen.

Airports often make agreements with hunters to keep the wildlife population down, reducing the risk of collisions. Whether this situation was innocent or nefarious, it is likely that many individuals initially ignored it as a normal situation.

They get the materials, climb the tree, and build it.

Have they determined yet if there was nefarious intent? It does not apoear to be an area where people would hunt, but maybe to watch air traffic? Maybe kids? Just wondering if any conclusions were made.
