The fashion meme reminds me of an 80’s commercial where Soviet women were modeling their current outfits. All the women were heavy and they all wore the same outfit.. sort of looked like a feed sack.

The announcer would say “evening wear” and the model would walk the runway. Then “causal wear” and the model would walk out in the same outfit. Very funny at the time. Never could happen today

Peace to you

The burqa I understand but what is the the ref to "Handmaid's Tale" ?
In the TV show (on Hulu), the future human race has very few women that can reproduce. A radical religious sect controls the government and these women are used by the elites to provide children to the rich and powerful. They are called handmaids.

They are basically bought and sold for breeding, they have no rights.

I’ve only watched a couple of episodes, but they basically slam Christianity (and Judaism) by referencing OT passages where handmaids were given to husbands to bear children if the wife could not produce male heirs.

Like Ky said, it was pretty stupid

Peace to you

And another good reason why I do not watch TV.

Sure do miss the 60's & 70's.
