So, Rando, just curious who did you vote for in 2016, 2020 and 2024?
I did not vote (President) in 2016. (couldn't vote Hillary of course, but, I voted down-ballot for everything else).
I could not vote for Trump.

His attack on a genuine intelligent doctrinaire conservative: (Ted Cruz) by calling his wife "ugly" was beyond the pale for me.
Ted Cruz was the correct option for Republicans.

Trumps response was to call his wife ugly (because he is a billionaire who inherited millions from his father and disposes of any and all wives the moment they turn 40)

Trump actually impressed me to an extent during his 2016-2020 presidency, so I voted for him in 2020.
Trump lost because he is the ONLY POSSIBLE Republican capable of losing to Joe Biden in 2020. (No other Republican would have lost in 2020).

Trump lost because he never even attempted to "BUILD THE WALL". Because he never really intended to do so anyway, and he never knew why it was important to so many people....He just knew it was a bumper sticker slogan that sounded good (like MAGA).

In 2024, in the primaries: I voted for an actual doctrinaire conservative who knows what conservativism is about (and literally just passed into law, in my wonderful State the death penalty for child rapists) Ron DeSantis.

Ron DeSantis of course lost, because the Trump cult exists, doesn't know what it believes, or why it believes it.

Like Ted Cruz 8 years earlier:
Ron DeSantis was the correct option for Republicans.

After the prospect of a decent, godly, doctrinaire conservative option (like DeSantis) was lost in the primaries, I was forced to vote Trump in the general election 2024.

He's done o.k.
He doesn't deport a lot of people, he just posts mean-spirited adverts of ICE being cruel.
Also, he spends every waking second of the D.O.J's time waging "law-fare" against the very people who waged "law-fare" against him 2+/- years ago.

This is because he doesn't really care if the DOJ is weaponized...He only cares that it was weaponized against him (it was to be fair).
Now, he doesn't want a clean DOJ, he wants revenge against Letitia James, Jack Smith, Peter Strzock etc...This is because he does not represent an idea, he represents a personality cult centered around himself.

A real lawyer (like Cruz) would not be doing with the DOJ what Trump is doing. The DOJ is a joke.

You are mistaken about not trying to build the wall in his first term.
Biden’s administration was found selling the materials off for scrap that were purchased for the wall.
Opposition fought the wall in court at any possible moment they found. They didn’t want the wall built.
Interesting fact, there were fewer Venezuelan drug boats blown up on the Mexico border when it was harder to close.
There are a few reasons for this. Some of them are obvious.
