Wealth

Jesus has thousands of words on the evils of wealth.
Jesus talks as much about the requirement of helping Everyman.
Should not a good America being working on these two desires of Jesus.

But Jesus had a lot to say about the negatives of wealth, thus why is there not more Christian talk of Jesus’ words, sadly one reason is the tax exempt status, sadly this could be seen as caring more about treasure than spreading the word of Jesus. If we call out wealth and the love of wealth could we not change the current worship of wealth. Every news story these days ends up with the mention of treasure.

Any church can preach about money and it doesn’t affect their tax exempt status.

It speaks to how you steward the resources God has entrusted to you (whether material wealth, talents, abilities).

You believe that 1 trillion dollars of tax revenue that goes to DOD does not disproportionately end up in the hands of the wealthy?
This has nothing to do with preaching and tax status.

Provide an example of when and where it has happened.

The percentage of the DOD budget goes to the MIC .a large percent of the MIC budget goes to overhead and profits my tax money , on this nationalized MIC would save billions. Farms are for the biggest part owned by large corporations thus the biggest part of the farm budget goes to corporations overhead and profits every federal health care dollar has a large part go to corporations, most of the COVID relieve ended up in corporate hands. Food, rent , bill paying . Spreading the tax money out in little pieces to many makes it look better than saying hey Kroger here’s a billion dollars feed a few people.

Even if any of that was true, how does telling people that instead of preaching God’s word help anyone?
Your priorities are mixed up.
And preaching about money doesn’t change tax exempt status.

Talking politics in church changes tax exempt status.
There have recently been conversations from religious groups about being quiet due to tax status

Talking politics in church changes tax exempt status.
That is not an accurate statement.
There have recently been conversations from religious groups about being quiet due to tax status
Their fears have nothing to do with actual law.
Your misunderstanding of it causes too much to be gathered under what churches are “allowed to do.”
I am a BBC NPR, news consumer.
Clearly.
But does that mean you want the government to return to their misappropriation of funds to your news sources so they can pad each others pockets?
Is that what you want people to preach?

Thousands of Words? Really? I can only recall a few times Jesus spoke directly of wealth and problems associated with it.

Maybe hundreds of words?? Maybe. More likely a few dozen words about the problems with wealth.

Even so, Jesus is not speaking of a government taking people’s money and spreading it around to make everyone “equal”.

Let each Christian be a good steward of their own wealth, give generously to their local church specifically and the cause of Christ generally… including helping the poor widows and orphans.

Peace to you
