Boots on the Ground

Iran does not seem to be bothered by our bombing.

Is it time to send boots on the ground?
I realizes that people do not want it - but.....

In WW2 - The allies bombed Germany for 15 months
Nine months after D-Day - the war ended with unconditional surrender.

As I said people may not like the boots - BUT is that the only way to end Iran?

12 Active Divisions, 8 NG Division , 3 "divisions" = seperate BDE + 4 USMC = 27 Total Divisions
(this is not counting seperate units which are combat - ie artillery, aviation ect.

I say start with about 5 division (US) + other countries, - and lets get this mission accomplished!
With 5 divisions as backup

What say you ?

You can't win a ground war against people who consider it a good thing to die killing Americans. What you are fighting is a religious ideology.

That element would continue even without a country.

The only thing thay can be done is to destroy the regime, install another, and deal with the continued terrorists.
The only way you can destroy the regime is to put boots on the ground. I agree we would be fighting a religious ideology just as were did in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our military presence in both those countries brought other Islamic extremist organizations to both those countries to fight against us. The same would occur if we put boots on the ground.

You also have to think about what would happen if we did achieve that goal and Trump put in a new government, so he could control them. Think about Venezuela now. Look at the justification he gave using our Navy to destroy drug running boats. "They're bringing fentanyl into our country." Then he started talking about the evil regime in Venezuela sponsoring the fentanyl and they had to be taken out of power.

Then that led into him telling the world that the country had an election and the people who actually won, weren't allowed to take their seats because the regime wanted to remain in power. Trump said he wanted to take that regime out of power so the people who actually won could take their place. Did that happen? No. After taking Maduro and his wife into custody, he allowed those in the regime to remain in power. Why? He said it himself. The regime was cooperating, doing everything he wanted them to do. The real reason for the invasion of Venezuela had nothing to do with fentanyl, it was about the oil.

There were no nukes in Iran. There couldn't have been if he were telling the truth in June of last year when he said our military obliterated the three nuclear enrichment sites. He said it would be years and years before they could ever start again. Look at the reason he gave for using our military again in February through now. Were they really a couple of weeks away from having a nuke and a month away from using it to destroy Israel and the Middle East as he claimed? I don't buy it.

I think the reasons was to take out the regime and replace it with a puppet government who would do everything Trump wanted so that we could control the oil and the strait.

You may think Trump has all the cards, but that's not the case. Iran does. Remember our missile arsenal is now near empty and this war is very unpopular with the majority of voters. The economy is not good because the high gas prices have increased the cost of consumer goods. Polls show the Democrats have the edge when it comes to who gets the majority of the House following the November general election. Polls are also showing the majority believe the Republicans are doing a poor job handling the economy. Control of the Senate is a toss up. Contrary to Trump's claim his approval ratings are the highest they've ever been, they're actually very low.

If he puts boots on the ground, the Republicans will lose the House for sure and most likely the Senate. Now can you see why Iran is the one holding the cards?

The war ended with the Soviet Union taking Berlin and Hitler committing suicide in his Berlin Bunker. It wasn't until after Hitlers successor surrendered. It was not because of a bombing campaign by the allies. Hitler and the Germans fought to the very, very end.

Ya'll don't get mad at me, but just consider this.

Suppose America backs down, unable/unwilling to do anything they talked so boastfully about. Backing down, tying it all verbally with neat ribbons and bows. A nice retreating and yielding package that everyone accepts.

Then Israel has no friend to help in anyway at all.

Then Ezekiel 38-39 comes to pass. God spoke in these chapters of a multi-nation alliance that's going to attack Israel in the last days for the last time. Time will be up and God will destroy this coalition and feed them to the birds so says the Bible.

And....Christ will be back to rule and reign.

Who are these nations of this sick alliance? By-the-way, the Bible says there will be saved people among EVERY nation, tongue, and tribe. Not all peoples in these nations will go to hell like some people believe. But who are they?

"Gog of Magog" - I understand from reading people a whole lot smarter than me that that Gog is a person or title and not a nation. Magog is part of the old Soviet Union.
"Ethiopia" - This includes modern day Sudan who hates Israel.
"Rosh" - Includes modern day Russia.
"Persia" - You guessed it - modern day Iran who called itself Persia until the 1930's.

There are more in this alliance. Some really smart folks say Turkey, Libya, and even perhaps a small coalition from Europe that is extremely antisemitic. They - as a demonic force - begin the attack on Israel and time is up for the world.

Why do you all think America is not listed in Biblical prophecy? Where do you think America will be during these days? Waving our red, white, and blue flags?

I love my country and am thankful to live here, but America holds no place in the end times. There will be no boots on the ground in Iran. And if there might be - Iran will not be conquered by America.

We need to be concerned with the lost - the 158,000 people, according the SBC - who goes to hell every single day.

I know many will disagree, but these are my own thoughts.

Since WWII, the claim a war cannot be won solely by bombing is hoisted again and again. It is a fiction. Mr. Clinton achieved victory with bombing.

Limited and brief incursions, to find and eliminate hidden assets, such as leaders, missiles and drones, may be necessary, but facilitating overthrow by Iranians would be much preferred.

The head of the snake of course is much more difficult to address. Humans are capable of believing two wrongs make a right, an eye for an eye. You hear terrorists say America deserved 911, or that Israel is engaged in "genocide" in Gaza, while chanting "from the river to the sea" which advocates elimination of the Jews.

Unless we find the armor to protect our children from falsehood, spewed by reliable sources, the coming tribulation seems near indeed.

Mostly correct.

That's my main point - Only bombing will not complete the mission
and you brought up a good point - it was all the allies.

You are reiterating two of my favorite, ignored, chapters of prophesy in he scriptures. We either fall or become one impotent force and God wins the victory alone. Does anyone remember the Six Day War?

The only way you can destroy the regime is to put boots on the ground.
It is not the only way. But destroying the regene is just getting them out of power, temporarily. The organization that is currently in power existed long before it was the Iranian regeme, and it exists throughout the region.

This is not a conflict that can be won woth boots on the ground. The only way I see to change the regeme is to start seriously destoring Iran (its civilian and military infrastructure, its economy.... everything) and hope somewhere in the process a viable Persian group arises to take control.

This cannot happen because we are supposed to do our best to protect bridges, roads, civilian utilities, religious buildings t9 include those of the current regeme, civilian production, etc.

But in the end there is no solution. One just decides what form the current regeme will take.

I have to ask, have you ever served in the military?

I do not recall anybody saying that there were nukes in Iran. The problem was Iran's nuclear program and enriched uranium beyond commercial use as Iran had stockpiled over 400 kg of U-235 enriched to 60% (2% to 5% enrichment is used for nuclear power fuel, 20% is high enrichment used for scientific research and isotope production). 60% enriched uranium has no commercial purpose (the only reason to have 60% enriched uranium is to enrich it to 90% for weapons).

We recently received 13.5 kg of enriched uranium from Venezuela to process into HALEU (we are the US's only operating production-scale radiochemical separations facility). Ot wasn't enriched beyond commercial purposes.

The problem with allowing terroristic governments to enrich uranium to weapons grade is two fold. With Iran it is their religious ideology which manifests itself as terrorism. But there is also the probability the materials will fall into the hands of less regime-orinted terrorists groups (Iran would use it to force compliance rather than as deterrence, but the terroristic organizations they sponsor are focused on destruction of their religious enemies rather than deterrance).

It seems that you are objecting to keeping Iran from being able to possess weapons grade nuclear materials. At least that is what it sounds like. I do not know of any military serviceman that would be comfortable with that path.

In what branch did you serve?

Army. What about you?

Here's another question. Of the following to statements which do you believe to be true?

1. (June 2025) Trump said the three nuclear enrichment sights were obliterated and it will take years and years before they will be able to enrich Uranium again.

2. (February 2026) Iran is only a week away from having a nuclear weapon and a month away from launching it and destroying Israel.

Point one: President Trump has made a profession of faith and I view his as one of m brothers, he listened to the Military and believed what he said. Even the Massod was fooled by their hidden assets.
