Day of the Crucifixion?

From what I understand Baptist do mostly hold the 6th day of the week.
The next view being the 4th day of the week.
The 3rd view, being the 5th day of week.
I wonder how 6th day ones explain the absence of a third night.

Jewish dates begin at sundown. According to Mark 15:42, And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, . . . Christ was dead before that 6th day.
That would mean the crucifixion was on the 5th day. The topic is about the 6th day.
IMO, this is like emphasis on the wrong syllable. Should be looking at the type of Jonah in the fish's belly.

Because each local Baptist church is autonomous under God, there can be no definitive answer to a question which starts, "Do Baptists believe......" (except, of course, for matters contained in the so-called "Baptist distinctives," such as baptism being for believers and the priesthood of all believers). With matters such as the day of the week the crucifixion took place, there is a variety of beliefs among Baptists. Some say that the Scriptures indicate that there were two sabbaths during that week, the weekly sabbath on the seventh day, and the other the first day of unleavened bread, which John calls a "high day":
Jhn 19:31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
But really, as I said, there can be no definitive answer to your question.
But in post #4, you wrote: "Christ was dead before that 6th day."
I don't see what your point is with regard to the OP. What do you have in mind?
Perhaps "the majority" instead of "in general" would have been a better choice. Or maybe the question should have been asked as a poll.
