    LDBC,

Deuteronomy 22:5 has nothing to do with man's normal clothing there. Read the context and check history. You will find it was speaking of a woman putting on battle armor.

How do I know it is not regular clothing? Both men and women wore robes in that day. Men, Saul for one, were said to wear skirts.

I guess women are wrong for wearing skirts. Breeches measured from the waist to the bottom of the thigh and were worn under the robe. From what I have read, only priests were commanded to wear the breeches or undergarments.

In the Torah also we are told not to wear mixed garments; i.e. rayon/polyester, nylon/cotton, etc...

Do the shirts and pants you wear have tags in them. Most of the clothes made have a tag sewed into them that is of different material than the clothing itself. Being sewed into the material makes it part of that material.

So, by your logic, both men and women, including yourself, in this age are disobeying Deuteronomy 22:5.

Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

What was strange to me was that they stuck in a church that taught a different way of salvation than they believed, only because the church was KJV IFB.

Is that what it has came to? As long as a church is KJV IFB, then even if I disagree with the church about salvation I should still go to it?

To me, the issue of salvation should come first, then Bible translation...

Besides that, I don't agree with the pants issue, but the deeper issue is honesty.
A Preacher should be honest about what he believes..

Sadly I know one that preached a sermon strongly against calvanism, and a week later (at another church) preached one that was for it.

Sadly, There are many preachers like that, TinyTim. Preaching what the people want to hear and not what 'Thus saith the Lord.'

May we ever be stalwart in our defense of convictions that God has place in our hearts, yet not so closed-minded that our own presuppositions are not breakable by the Light of God's Holy Word.

As to the OP: I have no idea and really don't care. The initiator, of course, knows who is being referred to.

The member has one post, which suggests he has an axe to grind on this issue.

Hypocrisy is not pretty. In fact, it's ugly. But all we have is one poster's word on this situation.

In the interest of full disclosure: My wife wears pants, as does my daughter. In fact, I do and so does my son. I have never had any difficulty determining which is which. I am also thinking of purchasing a kilt, though I am too much a gentleman to play the bagpipes.

Breeches, is the same old argument born from ignorance of scripture, as SFIC said they were a priestly garment and worn only by priests, under their clothing. I guess today we would call them underware. So, ineffect, the argument is that 1. women shouldn't wear underware, or 2. women shouldn't wear men's underware.
Why would anyone stay in a church who taught differently then they believed, especially about salvation and baptism. No excuse for that.

    From Stuart Noble's Scottish Blog:

    Q. What's the definition of a gentleman?

    A. Someone who knows how to play the bagpipe and doesn't.

    Q. How can you tell if a bagpipe is out of tune?
    A. Someone is blowing into it.

    LOL, rsr.

Now, granted, I do not like most bagpipe tunes. I do have a Bagpipe cassette here in front of me called 'The Best of Scottish Bagpipes and Drums'.

The last instrumental on this tape though, is awesome! It is 'Amazing Grace.' Beautifully and masterfully done.

So, I am not totally against the windbag.

Ach aye! The mere sound of bagpipes wafting across the glen brings tears to my eyes - even though my family have been far removed from the Highlands for many generations. Even then, men wore "men's clothes" the greater kilt, and the women wore "women's clothes" a woven piece of cloth known as an airsaid.

I am not even going to ask if you wear your kilt "military style" or not, I just hope you have the appropriate sized sporran to keep your kilt properly adjusted! ;)

BTW I am dresses only and have lately even taken up to covering my hair when I pray...

My dresses make me feel more feminine and covering my hair reminds my that I to honor Jesus in all that I say and do. [IMG]

That website attacks several of the "saved by grace" preachers that have made history in the number of souls won to the Lord.....so I read far enough to know it isn't something I wished to continue reading.

What about "saved by grace" does this person NOT understand?

I'm with you on this one Kuntrygirl, I have had too much bad experience with wearing pants/shorts, short skirts and short dresses. Even my husband thinks I look and act like more of a lady when i'm looking modest. I also cover my head when praying there is truly something "feminine" about doing so, i've been on both sides of the fence and am confident in my decision. For some reason I seem to get "attacked" more by my own sisters in Christ for doing such things than by my brothers in Christ. It doesn't make sense.:Fish:

Ive noticed the same thing about who tends to complain to us more about our "only dresses". I actually had one gal tell me that lost people will not be able to relate to me very well because Im wearing a dress. As if lost people never wear dresses! I would have laughed but.....:saint:

The OP though, in his article seems to indicate that he's met up with the politics that are rampant among some people. Not just pastors, but its hard to find out that it exists there as well.
