Suggest adding a fifth option: created for Satan and the fallen angels, but also now for those who refuse Christ.

From my studies, limited as they may be, I don't find a whole lot in the New Testament to support everlasting torment over annihilation for human souls. I see references to "death" and "second death" and pain and suffering, but I don't see anything confirming its eternal nature. The references to the second death, particularly influence me in that direction. The first death being of the body, and the second death being of the soul.

Further, Jesus says that the only way to gain eternal life is to believe in him; but if Hell is eternal punishment, doesn't that mean we'd have to be alive eternally, at least in soul, to experience it?

Of course, I could just be splitting hairs since many of my friends are (despite my best efforts) unsaved... I'll admit that I could be equivocating here. Jesus could have meant "eternal life" in the context of eternal happieness, or eternal closeness to God... I wish I had the wisdom to determine whether or not my belief is what God intends me to find in my heart, or what I *want* to be there.

What scripture do you have that says that it isn’t?

    Warm Christian greetings!

I was disturbed to see from the poll results that as many as 1 in 5 don't believe in Hell as it is taught in God's word. I don't want to be rude but I have to ask "What kind of Bible are they reading?!!!"

    Kind regards

    Robert J Hutton

"Baptist" is a big tree where many odd birds opt to live, brother!

I cannot imagine heaven without hell.

Now, I wish that God elected EVERYONE to believe and go to heaven. That would be the Gospel of Bob. But that is NOT His plan, and I am continually reminded that the "pot" better not question the actions of the "potter".

God is God, and Bob isn't.
