Poll: Where would Jesus attend church?

I think he'd have his own church. And with him being perfect in every way, there would be no need for deacons, music directors, or any other human influence. I would love to attend his church. Oh...wait...I will be!!!!

Mr. Curtis is right. He said He would build HIS church. I find it rather funny to think he would sit in a pew and listen to some preacher talk about what He really meant! Or try to explain what He said!

It would finally be the perfect chruch. Men always mess up someting, but with HIM as our Pastor it would be perfect.

Possibly an oversight on your part rsr, but I don't think I could find fault with HIM (Jesus) as the Pastor... as for "church" in the context of this poll - that would truly be all the born-again believers just being in His presence regardless of where it would be, wouldn't it???

We the believers are his church. So he's always in church with us and in us

He would have no problem attending any church he already visits according to His promise "Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them". Consider that he atteneded many synagogues AND visited John the Baptist when he was preaching, did NOT disturb John's preaching . . . even accepted the baptism of John. And why? In order to fulfill all righteousness. If Jesus expects ANYBODY should go to church, HE would go there also.

Is it us, as believers, or is it an organization (made up of believers)? I am finding myself becoming more and more disillusioned with whats being passed off as "the church" today.

 

Jesus was a practicing and devout Jew. He practiced Judaism. I see no reason to think he wouldn't continue to practice Jusaism.

 

Didn't Jesus visit those seven churches over yonder in the first three chapters of the book of the Revelation? I believe He wouldn't have near as much trouble in visiting any one church as we would--its the idea that when He gets to YOUR particular church on THAT particular Sunday will YOUR pastor be brave enough to still get up and tell the truth about the Truth sittin' on the second row down? And will Jesus be able to actually HEAR the truth about HIM, the Truth?

No fundamentalist literalist could have Jesus as a pastor without violating his interpretation of scripture--you know, the part that says a pastor must be the husband of one wife.

 

I don't think Jesus would 'attend' church the way we do, nor for the purposes we do, because Jesus is the purpose of the church. Church would be Him, located where ever He was, like the crowds that followed and listened to the parables.

So Jesus wouldn't have a need to attend church, nevermind a particular church, although I imagine he would certainly have things to say to churches he might visit - like the remarks to the churces in Revelation.
