Resurrection from the Dead

Daniel 12:2 (ESV)
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

John 5:25 (ESV)
"Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

John 5:28-29 (ESV)
Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
[29] and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

John 6:39-40 (ESV)
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the[/b] last day. [/b] [40] For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

John 6:44 (ESV)
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

Seems clear Bob - one resurrection.

I don't see anything clear here. What exactly in these verses points to one resurrection?

It's too bad that you spoof text (as Gerstner would call it) . Notice a verse you conveniently omitted:

Notice several things:

1. A number of people come to life and reign.
2. Then the rest of the dead (very clearly those who did not previously come to life) are resurrected. This is called the first resurrection.
3. The very term "First resurrection" implies that there is another. If there are not at least two resurrections, then "first" means nothing.

Bad things happen when you don't get your theology from the whole of Scripture. You end up with some loose ends that just don't fit anywhere.

 

I agree 100% with Dr. Bob and 99.999% with Pastor Larry (only because you didn't specifically mention three resurrections). Good job!
