I posted this in the Baptist Theology forum and no one has responded, so I thought I might post it here to see if anyone here can help.

In studying up on Oneness Pentecostalism I found some interesting information that helps to shed light on Isaiah 9:6, but since I don't really know what the original languages say, I was hoping that someone who does know can tell me if this is indeed a fair assessment of the words Eternal Father in that verse.

The quote is from the following website.

    Thanks!

I agree with the quote. Hebrew grammar and syntax make it clear that Isaiah 9:6 is not claiming that Jesus is "The Father" but that He is the possessor of eternity. [IMG]

Thanks! I wanted to hear it from someone rather then just believing it because I read it on the net! Oh wait, but I didn't acutally hear it from you either...I read it on the net! Hmmm....

    *lol*

    Thanks again!

As I have said before I came from Oneness beliefs many years ago and One thing that no Oneness preacher could explain to me when I started doubting this doctrine is why Paul gave salutations to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. To me this totally destroys their doctrine.

Many people give them the title of Jesus only but to me this is confusing because in reality Jesus is the only person in the Godhead. Jesus said the Father is spirit. The Holy Ghost is spirit.
Jesus is the only visible image of the Godhead bodily. Even to me Oneness is really strange because Trinitarians believe God is one. They will say they believe in One God so do Trinitarians. Trinitarians may say three personalities while they say three offices, or three manifestations. I think they should be called Modalists.
