I just realized I have a favorite verse!!!!

    It is Ruth 1:16

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

This verse was used in our wedding vows. Until this morning I had not read the Book of Ruth. I can see how they were taken out of context for the wedding vows, but the sentiment of the commitment is most approiate. These words mean so much more to me now then ever before.

Lord, thank you for showing theses words and their true place in your Word.....Amen

    <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Psalm 115:3
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

This has become my favorite verse just recently compliments of HankD here on the BB!! I USED TO have so many questions that simply cannot be answered. HankD posted this verse and nothing else. When the Bible says this below, God wasn't kidding!

    <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it...!

    I have two,

    Psalms 147:3
    He heals the brokenhearted
    And binds up their wounds.

    Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I have trouble finding a "favorite" verse also. The Word just has too much in it to pick and choose from!

I was reading this tonight and I wanted to share it. It was Paul's Prayer for the Ephesians and I want to make it my prayer for all of us here.

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Ephesians 1:16 "I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
    17
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
    18
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
    19
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength"<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

    Amen

It is very hard to pick a favorite! But here are some passages I have always really liked:

    Heb 1:3-4
who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
    NKJV

    Rev 5:1-7
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

And as far as OT, this event touched me greatly:

    2 Sam 9
David asked, "Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake?" Now there was a servant of Saul's household named Ziba. They called him to appear before David, and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" "Your servant," he replied. The king asked, "Is there no one still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show God's kindness?" Ziba answered the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in both feet." "Where is he?" the king asked. Ziba answered, "He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar." So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel. When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said, "Mephibosheth!"
"Your servant," he replied. "Don't be afraid," David said to him, "for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table." Mephibosheth bowed down and said, "What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?" Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "I have given your master's grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master's grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table." (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.) Then Ziba said to the king, "Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do." So Mephibosheth ate at David's table like one of the king's sons. Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica, and all the members of Ziba's household were servants of Mephibosheth. And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king's table, and he was crippled in both feet.

OK - its two verses, but I can't read them without being moved:

    John 14:18-19 (ESV)
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. [19] Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

Selecting "favorite" verses changes with me almost monthly. Where I'm at now is Psalm 115:1 <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

So many to choose from. I'm really bad about remembering what it said, but not the address.
    Some of mine:
For He who created you is your husband, The Lord Almighty is His name.

(This one, I know the address, but haven't memorized) Proverbs 31:1-10

Hmm ... I don't feel so guilty now: I cited two verses, not a whole chapter
    ;) :D
