hillbilly, I would recommend The Free Will Baptists in History, by Bill Davidson, as probably the best researched work on the Free Will Baptists in America. It is available from Randall House Publications. An earlier history by Damon Dodd was copyrighted in 1956, but I do not think it is still available. Its name is The Free Will Baptist Story. You might find it in a used bookstore or somewhere like that. Since you are also interested in Old Regular and Primitive Baptists, you should get Giving Glory to God in Appalachia by Howard Dorgan. This book examines six different groups - Primitive, Regular, Old Regular, Union, Missionary, and Free Will Baptists. You should be able to find this on amazon.com or just do a search. Dorgan has another on Old Regular Baptists called, I think, Brothers and Sisters in Hope. I'll check the title when I get home. The standard Primitive Baptist history is The History of the Church of God by C. B. & Sylvester Hassell. So far as I know it is not available. But I think one of the Primitive Baptist web sites is putting it online. I'll have to check on that also.
