    On another part of the board, Mr. Curtis asked why I don't believe in a pre-trib answer. It was suggested that if we wanted to discuss it we move it over here, so here it is. [IMG]

    ---------------------------------------------
    "Why don't you believe in a pre-trib rapture ?"
    Well, the last time (and one of the only times) I even half discussed it on a board was about half a year ago. I'm still working on it. Taking my time because it's not at the top of my list as things that are gonna affect anyone's getting saved/walk if they believe one way or the other. ('cept maybe the amills) At that time I stated I was post-trib...since then I started going toward mid, then toward pre- very briefly, then back to post, which is where I'm back at right now. LOL. I think I'm just stuck there...I kept trying to get to pre, I SO wanted to fit in with everyone else, it just doesn't work!
    Anyhow, read II Thess. chapter 2. The whole thing. The whole chapter deals with it, and also, note that we'll see the sop set up in the temple first...
    The end of I Cor 15 also, speaking of the last trump, and correlating that with when it says the last one will sound. However, I'm thinking I might be wrong on that because of the context of ICor. Like I said, I'm workin' on it.
    Anyhow, enough for now. That's a little, we can go on it if you'd like.

    As an amil Reformed Baptist, I'm curious how you see amillennialism influencing one's salvation-sanctification :confused:

    You can PM me if you don't wish to discuss it here) ;)

    Sorry Chris, the emoticons didn't come with the post when I copied it. Yikes! That wasn't meant to be serious. [IMG]
    However, I don't get the part of the view that (and perhaps I'm wrong on WHAT the view is) right now is the time of Christ's reign on earth, and how that fits into everything.

    As a like minded bro, I'd be glad to see this to. I'd email you some of my stuff from my educational days, but it all got wiped out by a hard disk crash back in the day. (Probably done by a free will, KJVOnly, dispensational IFB or a liberal CBF type) :D :D I'm just joking around, don't take me seriously there folks.

    CT: Almost finished with it. Thanks! [IMG] It explains a lot.
    BTW, how much of the Bible do you think has already been fulfilled and what's left to be fulfilled?

    A post trib rapture just doesn't seem like the best term.

    "Rapture" to me entails being caught up in the air, dead rising, to be forever with the Lord. Then come back AFTER He clears up all the mess at Armageddon.

    Post trib would be zip up, meeting the Lord as He descends, and zip right back. Kinda quick. Of course, no need to digest the food from the marriage supper of the Lamb with our new glorified bodies. :rolleyes:

    Think the correct term would be "post-trib yo-yo"? Don't blink. Up/down.

    I guess I go on Rev 3:10 as a strong scripture to back up my pre-trib stance.

    I mean the only thing we know for sure is that nobody knows, right ?

    I don't have scripture to back this up, but I believe the anti-christ will HAVE to wait until after the rapture to present himself. Otherwise we will be able to point him out, make it hard for him to decieve the unbelievers. Just my thought.

    When I see the term 'post-trib rapture' my question is Who?

    The Antichrist is given power to kill all those who don't worship him at the mid-point.
    There will be no one left on earth to rapture at the end -- or anytime during the second half!

    As far as this time being the reign of Christ on earth, it seems to me to be far more exemplified by Paul's prophecy to Timothy concerning the end times before Christ returns!

    But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. Peole will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, wihtout love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of plearsure rather than lovers of God -- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

    Than I compare this, which I experience everytime I turn on the TV set, with what Isaiah said the Lord's reign will be like:

    A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
    from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
    The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him --
    The Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
    The Spirit of counsel and of power,
    The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord --
    and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

    He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
    or decide by what he hears with his ears;
    but with righteousness he willjudge the needy,
    with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
    He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
    with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
    Righeousness will be his belt
    and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

    The wolf will live with the lamb,
    the leopard will lie down with the goat,
    the calkf and thelion and the yearling together,
    and a little child shall lead them.
    The cow will feed with the bear,
    their young will lie down together,
    and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
    The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
    and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest.
    They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,
    for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
    as the waters cover the sea.

    In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoles; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.

    Isaiah 11

    I recognize the first time -- the time Paul foretold -- in my lifetime now. It is radically different from the prophecy in Isaiah about the Lord's kingdom here on earth when it arrives. And I don't recognize, yet, a place where little children can play near venemous snakes and be perfectly safe...

    I see what you're thinking, but have you looked at it this way?

    "But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
    Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."
    On the same day that we are spared, the wicked are destroyed. The rapture and the second coming are not two separate events. At the return, we meet him in the air, and are at safety, while the wrath is poured out underneath us on the earth.
    "And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls tht fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
    That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great."
