Give the baby a chance! Who knows what good it could do. Maybe it would cure something or be the next Billy Graham. You have interesting topics in class.

By all means the unborn child. I'm reminded of the one who leaped in his mothers womb for joy... Brother Glen [IMG]

The profile reads as this:
"Betsy Bates, 29, is a well'known and successful model. Married a little over a year to rock star Duke, she has just found out that she is pregnant, a discovery she views with mixed feelings."

This to me is saying that the model is more worries about herself and the way her body looks. This says to me that there is a greater probability that the baby will be aborted than the baby will be brought to full term.

The rest of the profiles read as follows.:
The priest:
65 years old, dedicated his life to working with poor inner city ghettos. The flight is being taken so the preist can arrrange funding and enable him to set up more programs. If he dies, the program dies with him.

Brenda Jones:
Mother of three by three different men. Life is in no direction and her parents are the ones taking care of her children.

Juan Garcia:
Hispanic who is wealthy. He has a business that give other hispanics jobs. If Juan dies, hundreds of hispanics are out of a job.

Elijah Brown:
Ex-convict who has turned his life around. He has an invalid wife and a child. If he dies, his wife and child have no finicial support.

Congresswoman:
Advocator for peace and women's rights. Is very likely to be the first woman president.

D.B. Calhoun:
He's a bigot who dreams of being a mercenary. If left on the plane, the chances of anyone else getting off is very slim to nilch.

The 19 year old Adam referred to has this exact profile:
"Andrea Ohms, 19, is already a distinguished pianist, having started performing professionally at age 8. Her performances give immense pleasure to thousands of people around the world. She is engaged to be married."

Those are the profiles of the eight hostages. Now, who should go and who should stay. I personally ranked the pregnant model as 5 and stand firm in my decision.

Hopefully, now you will have a better understanding of how difficult it was to decide the four that should go and the four that should stay.

In Christ's love,
Teresa

Well I whole-heartly don't agree with abortion, it's murder. OK put that aside, I would save the unborn child, but if he is going to be the next Billy Graham Craker, God help us all! Maybe this Billy will get right! [IMG]

It would be hard for me to not choose the woman with the unborn baby. Women change a lot when they have babies, perhaps this mother will be one of those lucky ones that change for the good of the child. Children are the greatest miracle's the Good Lord provides but thes second best can be the changes that come over the mother of the child.

This is not a decision that we should be making...PERIOD. This is just another version of the lifeboat game which is designed to devalue human life. We should do everything in our power to save the lives of everyone on that plane. The game you are playing, Adam, is socialist propaganda of the worst kind.

You're absolutely right Joseph. This type of thing is used in secular education to program the mind toward a devaluing of the "undesirables" (babies, aged, sick) of our society.

So Adam,

Are you saying that the life of that unborn baby is more precious and valuable than others on the plane? How are you gonna choose who lives and who dies? Do you think God would agree with you? How do you know? You are right about one thing. We do not live in a perfect world. But that does not mean that we become part of the sin. We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The game you are playing has been done in public schools way back when I was a kid and further...it is called Lifeboat. It is socialist propaganda where human life is devalued whether you see it or not. The only way you can make this decision is by playing God and deciding which life is worth living and which life is not worth living. This devalues human life. It is wrong.

I agree with Joseph B. This is a conditional morality game which is foisted off on young people as something in the 'real world.' It is not a real world situation.

My daughter, a junior in high school, recently had one of these 'games' thrown out to the class by the teacher. It was the bomb shelter one. The bomb shelter could only hold so many and there were more than that who wanted to get in. Who should be accepted and who should be pushed out to die?

One of the options was a retarded person. The first thing the teacher said when the kids had all marked their papers was, "OK, now I assume we all deleted the retarded person..."

My daughter raised her hand and said, along these lines,
"No. That is the one I would be sure to include. I have a retarded brother. He has taught me a lot of patience. If we were going to start a brand new world with these people, they would need to know about compassion and patience, and the retarded person would teach them."

The game stopped at that point. The teacher admitted she had never thought of that.

God has made provision for every life He grants. It is not up to us to tell Him that He doesn't know what He is doing.

How does one choose to put a bullet into someone who is an enemy at war?

We are not talking about war here...are we? We are talking about who should be saved and who shouldn't...apples and oranges.

Do you think God would agree with you?

I would pray for his guidance.
Why would you pray for something that is not his will and not your decision to make.

How do you know?

How do we know God is real?
Are you serious? I know that God is real because of faith. How do you know God is real...you do know that God is real, right?

This devalues human life. It is wrong.

Sooooo...if you were placed in charge of making this decision you won't do anything and would let them all die? I would choose the child because it has not had a chance at life. Imagine seeing a young boy or girl about to be hit by a car- would you jump in front of the car? why? Or better yet- what about an old man?

In respectful disagreement.

I would not do nothing and you know it. I would do everything in my power to save everyone on the plane. But the decision of who lives and dies is not yours to make. This is in the hands of God. You do still believe in God...right?

You know what? I'm not even discussing this anymore. It has just gotten absurd.

Dr. Bob or Chris, please delete this thread.

Thank you,

Adam

It's not an absurd thread, Adam. It touches at the very heart of what is happening in schools today.

Here is the deal where I am concerned:

If I were the one who was forced to make some kind of life and death decision (and yes, that has happened in real life in the hands of some real sadists...), then I would pray for wisdom from God, knowing He would work through me for HIS will.

Until then, it is all in his hands, and probably should be resisted on every theoretical front by Christians.

There is an element of game playing which, again in my opinion, can be very dangerous to us -- preparing our minds for the making of decisions under our own authority and not under God's.
