The following rules were broken by that post:

    4. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. The board has an edit button enabled. We encourage you to use it and edit your own words. Moderators and Administrators will be visibly proactive in dealing with potentially offensive situations. Posts of a violent or threatening nature, either implicitly or explicitly, will be deleted, and the poster's membership revoked. We encourage personal problems with other members be resolved privately via email or personal messaging.

    3. Show grace to the other posters. When someone disagrees with you, discuss it; but be slow to offend, and eager to get into the Word and find the answers. Remember, when discussing passionate issues, it is easy to go too far and offend. Further, if we are "earnestly contending for the faith" it would be unrealistic not to expect at times to be misunderstood or even ridiculed. But please note that your words can sometimes be harsh if used in the wrong way. The anger of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Let's keep this thread on topic. I have sent you a pm, but will send another one as an explanation.

I want a public explanation. You've charged me with personally attacking another poster publically, now let's settle it publically, not privately.

Well, we are all Christians, and therefore brothers and sisters in Christ. And we are of various political persuasions, and therefore antagonists in the political arena.

For some of us, the commonality of Christian belief is more important than the political differences we have. For others, it's not.

And that determines whether they view the rest of us as "enemies" or not.

I have posted the rules that were violated Gershom. You directed a personal and offensive comment to BiR about his intentions on this board.
Now if you have further problems with this it MUST be settled via pm, as it's not fair to hijack this thread. Any further discussion of it on the open forum will be deleted.
Might I suggest you take a while to consider this before you respond? It know it's not fun to have a post edited, but as stated in the pm we need to maintain a Christian attitude and spirit on the board, and need the posters to do all they can to help uphold this ideal. Take a bit to think and cool off, as we often say things while angry that we later regret.

But your deleting of my post is inconsistent with what your accusing me of. Unfair.

I did not violate neither of the rules you posted.

BTW, would you like to tell the rest of us what the topic of the thread is and how the posted replies of everyone relate?

Perhaps the terminology of "enemies" is too strong, perhaps not. Maybe some are too thin skinned. As I have read this, and I am capable of misreading, the enemy statement had to do with political ideologies and not personal hatred toward another. Is that cutting it too fine? I find very few things redeemable about the democratic platform. Kerry is clearly a-moral in his stands and his political approach is the anthitesis of mine. In that sense we are enemies, ie opposed to one another. I don't hate him, I just think he and his way of thinking is dangerous.

I have people in my church that don't agree with me politically, but we love each other. I also love all my bro's and sis's here on the board even if I may not agree with them and we may be at complete odds with one another over different issues.

    Just my 2 cents.

Some are too selective, ignoring blatant harsh words while opposing the questioning of someone's genuiness.

I am sure that Joseph does not consider a brother in Christ his enemy. But some (other posters) like to take the ball and run with it.

We are One in The Spirit,
We are One in The Lord.
We are One in The Spirit,
We are One in The Lord.
And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.

And they'll know we are Christians by our love,
    By our Love,
Yes they'll know we are Christians by our love.

We will work with each other,
We will work side by side.
We will work with each other,
We will work side by side.
And we'll guard each man's dignity
    And save each man's pride.

And they'll know we are Christians by our love,
    By our Love,
Yes they'll know we are Christians by our love.

We will walk with each other,
We will walk hand in hand.
We will walk with each other,
We will walk hand in hand.
And together we'll spread the News
that God is in our land.

And they'll know we are Christians by our love,
    By our Love,
Yes they'll know we are Christians by our love.

I respectfully request, as a board administrator, that we take a step back and realize what is important NOW....

There is no need for implications or enemies on a Christian board, no matter how anyone voted.

    Thank you,
    Diane

Well, let's take a look at what was said. Note that I am quoting the parties involved.

    Here is your initial post:
    Now, here is the response:
Joseph made it VERY CLEAR and even amplified this statement. Hey, that's fine with me: he has a right to his opinion - a right that I would willingly defend.

As I said, it's a matter of what's most important. I don't think of anyone here as an enemy, even if I don't like their political ideas much.

God should come first. And anyone who accepts Jesus as his or her Savior is one with us.

That's how it is with Christians.

    Roger,

Go back and actually read what I wrote.

    Roger,

Do you fit in any of these catagories. If so, then you are my political enemy. If not, then no problem. I have no intention of moving forward together with my enemies.

The key phrase there is "by trying to weaken our country in a time fo war."

Some here have stated than anything less than 100% support of the president in every area is doing just that. I do not support President Bush 100%, even in the action in Iraq. In my mind that does not make me guilty of "trying to weaken our country" but that is the accusation.

I do not need to "cool off" because I was never angry.

I have not stated that. I don't even support the President in everything, although I do support him in the War on terror in Iraq. Therefore, I am not sure what this has to do with me.

I apologise if I am mistaken Joseph, but at one point in our many discussion I think I remember you accusing me of trying to "weaken our country" because I questioned some of his policies in Iraq. If this was not what you are referring to please forgive me for misunderstanding your post.

This is not referring back to much older debates in which you have been very gracious in accepting my explanations.

When I talk about weakening our country in a time of war, I am saying that I think it is dangerous for our troops to publicly speak out against the war while our troops are in a combat zone fighting it, especially in a public forum that is seen worldwide and more than likely by enemies of the USA. For the record, had Kerry or Peroutka won, I would not have said anything publicly against their foreign policy until our troops were out of a combat zone. I understand freedom of speech, believe me. Ask some of the older administrators how strongly I fought for that when a moderator in the past. But, I also understand that sometimes the safety of our troops is more important than my right of free speech. It is not hard to figure out what Al Quaeda and the terrorists were trying to do with this election. Luckily, they failed and America proved once again that they are stronger than Spain and France.

    Ephesians 6:12:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
