Do you believe that God will pour out his wrath on His Church?

Also, will the children of God be in the Armageddon?

    KJMatt.03
1": In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

"2": And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

"3": For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

"4": And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

"5": Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

"6": And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

"7": But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

John the Baptist was being a little harsh, don't you think? Like Paul, the Pharisees and Sadducees were seeking God and their hearts were in the right place. Given the choice, I'm sure they'd decide of their own free will to cruci...er, accept Jesus as their personal savior. ;)

His wrath on the body of His Son? I hardly think so! Discipline, yes, but wrath, no. Wrath is for those who prefer the lie.

Well God was pleased to bruise Him, but that was the body of sin that Jesus became, not the ecclesia/ Church.

We are not appointed unto wrath, but God does chastise His children: He pours out His wrath on the ones who refuse Him.

Romans 5.9 and other passages clearly state that believers are saved from the wrath of God through Christ:

Do you mean will there be believers on earth at this time?

Doesn't sound like it from Revelation 19. It looks like the beast and the Kings of the earth (who are clearly put in a bad light in the text) are fighting the Lord and his heavenly army.

Beast + Kings of the earth vs. Lord + his heavenly army = no believers on earth

Could be wrong, but I don't see mention of believers on earth after they are slain by the beast.

I have not studied this area extensively so am just going by a recent study of Revelation in my bible study group.

Are you asking because you are not sure or because you think you have the answer and want to see if someone disagrees or agrees with you?

I am asking because it is taught that the Christians will war against Satan in the Armageddon, that the Kings of the east will rise up and war against the Christians but it will be the Kings of the whole earth. I was wondering if any on this board believe that?
You cannot believe that He will not pour out His wrath on His children and still believe that His children will be in the Armageddon to war against Satan.

    Revelation, chapter 16

12": And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

"13": And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

"14": For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

"15": Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

"16": And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Therefore the Armageddon takes place under the sixth vial of the wrath of God. In other words it is part of the wrath of God and I believe it is when Good will triumph over evil, but the Good will be the Lord himself and the evil will be Satan. I believe the children of God will already be in Heaven.

I have heard all my life that the kings of the east will rise up and make war with the saints by many.

John the Baptist had no concept of Christ coming once in mercy and love to die on the cross and then again to judge the world. Should not be a surprise, neither did the OT prophets. When Jesus quoted Isa 61:1-2 in the Synagogue at Nazareth, He stopped in the middle of verse 2, right before the vengeance.

    Rightly divide...

No. Believers shall not come into condemnation but are passed from death to life.

Believers will be chastened in love, not punished in anger. Discipline is for the children who disobey, wrath is for the wicked lost. NO PASSAGE EVER PICTURES GOD DEALING WITH NT BELIEVERS IN WRATH!!!

Oh, I don't believe the believers will suffer God's wrath either. I think you misread.

That all depends on if their brains have been fully formed and whether or not they've reached the age of accountability and have had the chance to make an informed decision, as stated in Figmentations 5:24. ;)

    Bob

He was drawing in another thread... and beating up on those guys here, too.

FWIW, I do not believe that Church believers will be here during that time, either. But that is another...

I was joking about the "age of accountability" doctrine which appears nowhere in the Bible (hence the reference to "book" of Figmentations). Someone on here speculated that it is tied to how the brain isn't fully developed until the teenage years (suggesting that we're not accountable for our sin until our brains are fully developed, making the age of accountability sometime in our teens for normal people).

Whether or not our children would be caught in the time of wrath would depend on whether or not they are saved. And whether or not they are saved would depend on whether or not they have reached the age of accountability and have made their free will decision to accept Christ. Are you lost yet? I hope so, because the whole concept of age of accountability is nonsense.

For what it's worth, I happen to believe that 144,000 Jews are sealed for protection right before the time of wrath begins. This is also about the time of the rapture. This leaves the world full of protected Jews and unsaved. Whether or not our children are there during the time of wrath depends entirely upon whether or not they are saved and raptured before the wrath begins.

That's my view. Your mileage may vary.

I think you missed the point of the OP
    Npet:

I asked if God's children (saved) would be in the wrath.
