    I'm pretty scared and confused.
In Nigeria is a pastor who had been dead for 3 days.He was resurrected at a conference of the evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. This pastor died and
was taken to heaven by angels. The day before he died his wife beat him and he was very angry cause in Nigeria wifes do not beat their
husbands. She wanted to apologize two times but he did not accept it.
The angel showed him heaven and then he showed him hell. Here is an excerpt of his story. According to Reinhard Bonnke it is all true.

The most surprising thing is what happened next. The escorting angel told pastor Daniel, “If your record is to be called here, you will in no doubt be thrown into hell.” Pastor Daniel immediately defended himself saying, “I am a man of God! I serve Him with all my heart!” But a Bible appeared in the angel’s hand, and it was opened to Matthew 5 where Jesus warned that if one calls his brother a fool he is guilty enough to go into the hell of fire (see Matt. 5:21-22). Pastor Daniel knew he was guilty for the angry words he had spoken to his wife. The angel also reminded him that Jesus promised that God will not forgive our sins if we do not forgive others (see Matt. 6:14-15), because we will reap what we have sown. Only those who are merciful will obtain mercy (Matt 5:7). The angel told Daniel that the prayers he prayed as
he was dying in the hospital were of no effect, because he refused to forgive his wife even when she attempted to reconcile on the morning
    of his fatal accident.

Pastor Daniel wept at this revelation, but the angel told him not to cry, because God was going to send him back to the earth to grant the
rich man’s request (see Luke 16:27-30). A man would come back from the dead and warn people of hell. The angel said that Daniel’s resurrection would serve as a sign and be the last warning for this generation.

I find this totally confusing and scary. Would God really send a christian to hell because of something like this? Where is the
security? The bible says nothing can snatch us out of his hands. :(
I don't even know what to think of God anymore. I mean doesn't he love
us? This sounds like God will send us to hell because of every little sin. :(
This is very scary. What if you die and expect to go to heaven and then you are rejected cause you sinned and did not repent or imagine
you argue with somebody and are totally angry and cannot apologize right away and then you die, this would mean you go to hell. :(
I don't even know what to think of God anymore. Is God my friend or is
he only waiting for a reason to send me to hell? :(
This is what I mean with knowing God. Imagine you die and expect to go
to heaven and then God sends you to hell cause you sinned or did something wrong. This is so scary. :(

Galatians 6 says "God is not mocked. That which a man sows - that shall he also reap".

Christ said in Matt 7 "Not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven - but he who DOES the will of My Father".

Romans 2 says "For it is not the HEARERS of the Law that are just before God but the DOERS WILL BE justified".

And Matt 18 ends with an entire story about "forgiveness revoked" because of one who would not forgive his fellow man. The story ends with these words "So shall my Father do to you if you do not forgive your brother from your heart".

In the Lord's Prayer - Christ ends with these words "For if you do not forgive your neighbor neither will My Father forgive you".

God is not just "whistling dixie" by saying the same thing over and over again.

In 1Cor 6 Paul starts the section on rebellion by saying "do not be deceived" and then he lists the fruitful acts and deeds of rebellion saying that those who practice such things are not going to heaven. (Look up the "be not deceieved" phrase in the NT some time - very "instructive").

Having said that - I don't believe that man was dead or raised from the dead. Is it possible that he was in a coma?

Also - according to 1John 1:9 - God is not in the business of sending Christians to hell if they happen to sin after accepting Christ. BUT if you cling to sin (particularly an unforgiving and unrepentant heart) after being saved - that is another matter.

    In Christ,

    Bob

BTW - In Luke 16 it is CHRIST is the one who is raised from the dead as a sign to the living "and yet" they will not believe.

    In Christ,

No, he was not in coma.
The docs said he was dead.He was in a coffin for 3 days and they already had injected stuff to embalm him...

It's simply so scary. What if I make a mistake and then I go to hell because of it?
What if I argue with somebody and I cannot forgive him right away and then I die? :(

I find the theology of his statement loosely within the bounds of orthodox thought; that is, harboring unforgiveness prohibits one from being fogiven. The whole dead-three-days-and-embalmed-and-in-the-coffin thing, on the other hand, is completely unverifiable and, if I may say so as carefully and lovingly as possible, both unneccesary and suspect.

We have a risen Savior Who has already warned us of the eternal consequences of unforgiveness. I, too, want to be careful to walk in forgiveness, not primarily out of fear of the fires of Hell, but in gratitude and service to the One who has adopted me was His heir. What is the point of making a clear and loving warning from the Savior into a halloween story?

No, he was resurrected after 3 days!
But the angel told him he would have gone to hell if this had been his end. :(

Me too. But I am scared because of this.
I mean do you think it would be okay if God sent christians to hell because of not forgiving somebody elseß Is God so quick to send his own people to hell? :(
    This is scary.
Imagine you die and think you go to heaven and look forward to seeing Jesus and then God rejects you and sends you to hell cause you did not forgive somebody. :(

Or Jesus also said that you are in the dangers of hell if you call your brother fool.
Does this mean that I go to hell if I argue with somebody else and call him idiot or something worse?

Jimbo, if you walk in unforgiveness, are you one of God's "own people?"

Look beyond the label for a minute. In my honest opinion, it doesn't matter very much if a person has made some kind of intellectual assent to the existence of a resurrected Savior if his or her life is not a reflection of that Savior's adoption. The early Church Fathers talked about an "Order of Salvation" which included, but in no way was limited to, justification by faith.

Too many of us nowadays are content to have walked an aisle and have gotten damp to one degree or another with baptismal water, without having affected a real change by the power of the Holy Spirit. Then, when confronted with the reality that who we are and what we do matters a great deal to our Creator and Savior, we are aghast that, even though we say the right things when prompted, God might expect more from us.

JimboJones, the story you refer to is a hoax. Interestingly, you have fallen for a common e-rumor. You even stated that he was embalmed. In fact, the man was not embalmed. It turnes out that, as the erumor spread, someone added details to the story that he was embalmed, but that is not the case. In fact, the mortician has publicly denied that any embalming took place.

A close examination of Reinhard Bonnke's theology exposes him as being quite dangerous. He's got the potential of being the next Jim Jones, imo.

Jimbo I have to say I praise the Lord that God has made you so dilliget and sensitive to be concerned of possibly having the offence of unforgivness. I would like to say when you asked Jesus into your heart he forgave you and has put all your sins as far as the East is from the West.
    Ps 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Now of course we can't go around sinning all the time...(because then one would have to question if we got saved)..but apply what the word says to your life. You know right from wrong and the Holy Spirit will make things known to you thats needs to be straightened out in your life. If it is really bothering you about not forgiving someone (maybe someone in your past or someone who has already passed on?) forgive them any how. Just humbly pray and go to the Father in Jesus name and recall that person, and/or time, and/or event. Tell the Lord you repent of it (turnning away from unforgiveness) and appologize. The Lord knows your heart. [IMG]
Jimbo you also sound like you are a new in Christ? Don't forget old "Lucy" (the devil) likes to make people question their salvation. Hang in there and get rooted in the Word of God.

BTW, I did watch the video of the Reinhard Bonnke incident....Just showes how powerful the Word of God is! Reinhard didn't touch the man....didn't even know there was a dead man in the basement. I heard his wife brought him there because she believed if she could just get him there he would be raised from the dead. [IMG] Sounds like the faith of the woman with the issue of blood don't it?

Now if we can get all the living dead to wake up. [IMG]

The question remains - even if the incident fails, because we have the Bible.

    Is Christ telling the truth?

    Is Christ overstating the case?

Should we feel free to quote Him? Believe Him?

    In Christ,

    Bob

I actually saw a video on this man. They interviewed the man, and the doctor that embalmed him. It is not a hoax.

We know that we cannot GAIN salvation by our works, but we also know that God can and will BLOT names out of the Lamb's Book of Life. Therefore, can we say that we might loose our salvation by our works?

Just as Bob said - God is not mocked. What you sow you reap. Your actions demonstrate what you believe.

Hard to argue when I saw the man for myself on the video. It was produced by the Bonke ministry... so ... either these christians are lying, or this actually happened.

Bonke is doing crusades in Muslim Africa right now... crusades where there were 1.7 million salvations in one 5-day crusade.

    I went to the link.
IMO this is typical of the WOF/Charismatic type folks.
I really do not believe a word of it.
Interesting tidbit...one of the most effective tools of the con man is to provide many details.
And boy does this story have it.
    Now this leads me to the question;
If true, then why has the WHOLE world not heard of it? This happened in 2001 if I am not mistaken.
Plenty of time for the world's media to have gotten ahold of it and had a grand old time with it. Why not?
The world's media tells us about the zit Cameron Diaz can't get rid of so why not this fellows "resurrection"?
Answer; It ain't true. Oh and one more thing, 1.7 mil salvations in 5 days? Riiiiiiiiight. In muslim lands? Suuuuuuure.
    In His service;
    Jim
