    Hello folks:

It is very hot and humid here, and NO rain for once! I had to cave in and turn the central air on. I was finding it very difficult to breathe.

Brent was delivered to me late this afternoon, and unless plans change AGAIN, I will have him until around July 20th. My two granddaughters went home to Indiana with my oldest daughter, Laura. Shawna will be going back to Wisconsin Friday and picking them up on the way.

Brent fell asleep almost as soon as he got here. He evidently hasn't been getting enough sleep - he never takes a nap.

He is really excited about going to church tonight and joining the "King's Kids" group for boys his age. The only time he gets to go to church anymore is when he is at Grandmas and he just loves it.

Hubby was driving around, in the country last evening, looking for abandoned railroad ties (we need at least one more for our driveway). His truck broke down and a man was kind enough to help him push the truck up into his driveway. He then brought Dale home (about 20 miles).

The tow truck driver picked it up today and towed it into our driveway so hubby is busy trying to put a fuel pump on it right now. Nothing but red sludge came out of the old one, so we are hoping this will 'fix' it!

Have a good evening and enjoy your services tonight.

Red Sludge? That goes on the diet thread, doesn't Sue?

Praying for you, Grandma! What an impact you can have with those little eyes watching you

Wow, I had 9 tonight and the kids really wore me out! They're 3 1/2 to 6. I told the story of the Prodigal Son and we made pigs that turned out SO cute! Everyone made one except one 3 year old who seems 'slow'. I've not met him before and he doesn't talk. Smiled at me a lot but didn't participate at all!

Diane, have you figured out why our gracious God gives us our children when we are YOUNG!

If you haven't - it's because when we are OLD - we don't have the strength and endurance to be parents.

Let's remember to talk to Sue - and see how she feels on July 20!

Hey, that was the way I was at 3. Didn't talk a word until well past 2. Didn't take a step until day after my 2nd birthday. This kid might be a future "Dr Bob" or maybe just a little slow.

    But I repeat myself.

Parents were concerned, even took me to our Jewish Doctor Yitzak Perlman. He convinced them I was a deep thinker and that when I thought it time to talk, they wouldn't be able to shut me up.

    Duh.

LOL... This child didn't even seem to know the other children his age so I'm guessing he's not in Sunday School with them. I had gift bags of candy for each child who could answer a question but gave him one anyhow. He just stared and smiled constantly. I'd look down and he'd be there, looking right up at me with a big grin on his face. I didn't know the lady who picked him up but didn't get a chance to ask anything of the church member who dropped him off. Not even a last name.....

Our Nick only said a few words until near his 3rd birthday and then whole sentences and LOVES big words. He told me dinner was superb but the slushies at church were 'mediocre at best'. LOL

BTW... He was 53 1/2 inches and 72lbs at the allergist today. I'm only 61 1/2 inches. LOL

Hey, Diane, we're almost twins. I'm 78 inches but probably weight a little more than you.

My wedding was tough. Nice folks but just ugly weather. It was 46F, light drizzle on-and-off all day, light breeze making it colder. Furnace came on overnight and still on now.

Worse was having a wedding by the river! Talk about cold! My fingers could hardly turn the pages in my notes.

And tomorrow will be 70F! Oh well, USUALLY it is Paradise. At least at my funeral commital service at the cemetery I won't freeze!

Dr. Bob! You said.... And tomorrow will be 70F! Oh well, USUALLY it is Paradise. At least at my funeral commital service at the cemetery I won't freeze!

I hope that commital service isn't YOURS. LOL!

Well I've done it again. Waiting up for Jim and now he'll come in around 12:30 and we'll talk til almost 2.... then I'll need to be up early.

Going in the morning to find out about delivering the Yellow Pages for some money. Anyone ever done that?

It is MY service (I am doing it) but not for ME! ;) ;)

And since the funeral is not until 2pm it will be warm.

Hey, it's warm in the house right now! Who'da thunk the a/c would run full on Sunday and the furnace would run full on Tuesday/Wednesday!

Either way it's COSTING ME $$$$$

    Good Morning All:

Diane: I used to deliver two different phone books every summer. I also made extra money by being the bookkeeper for them. They always set up in a local motel. I always signed up for 2-3 different routes. It's not bad money or work, just a lot of walking. Nick can help you. The hardest part was getting them out of the car when I got home (trunk and back seat was always full), putting them all into plastic bags and putting them back into the car...

I slept much better last night. Brent is still sleeping. We have a busy day planned today. Grocery shopping (2 stores), buying tomato plants etc., and planting them.

I want to do my errands as soon as the stores open, before it gets any more humid, and the temperature rises. Humidity is already 94%. I like my A/C!!!

    Cruising...

    Morning all!

We had a little rain last night - probably could have used more - but am thankful for what we got.

This afternoon we visit the cardiologist - and find out the results of Jan's tests from last week.

I suspect that the cold wedding for the bride and groom - last night was a good thing. It probably fostered the desire a little later in the evening - to cuddle - so as to get warm! [IMG]

    Good day!

We might have a little rain to-day. Yesterday finished up splitting our firewood for next winter. Now we need a couple of months of sunshine to fully dry it and store in shed.

Delivering telephone books here is all done by vehicle (rural routes) and door to door in the village. I understand the people are paid piece work.

Back garden weddings are becoming quite popular here as well. Dr. Bob does more weddings. Maybe I should send him my loose-leaf Bible; the notes clip in and can't be blown by every wind and .....I guess doctrine doesn't fit here.....

Remembering Jan's test results to-day. May the Lord be pleased to grant favourable results.

    Cheers to all,

    Jim

    Work Now
Ecclesiastes 11:4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

Acts 20:24 "But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."

1 Corinthians 16:9 "For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries."

Good Morning all! I've got to be quick because we're going to apply for a few routes to deliver Yellow Pages. Hope the money is worth it with gasoline being so high. I get 31 mpg on the highway but this is such a rural area! BUT thankful for the chance to help!

Pray for us! Jim has not found a second job and the plant at Sony is being redone for safety issues. He's working 3:30 til midnight for $256. a week and we need double that just to survive. I need to supplement his income but we both BOTH feel God has loudly spoken to us about not putting Nick in public school.

    Back soon!
    Diane

So humid here last night I thought I was in Florida! The rain washed out the ballgame but not the humidity.

Glad to hear Sue is staying dry and cool.

Interesting bit of trivia. A local supermarket chain has their own line of soda made to mimic national brands, as many do. They try to copy the taste, and the name and packaging of each variety is similar to the national brand. Well, their version of Dr. Pepper is packaged in red, and guess what the name of it is ---
