Prayers are with you and Brent, Sue. Travel in peace, as the Prince of Peace shares your journey.

Growing up, there was no money and Christmas was no exception. We were allowed one gift and the value could not exceed £3, which was a lot of money in those days. Christmas was exactly that then; Christ's day.

When we married, we decided that one gift was all each person could have and the value was not to exceed $10.00. The gift must be wrapped in newsprint and be practical. We took the value of wrapping papers and any extra monies we had put aside and this went to a missionary serving on a foreign field. People who really had nothing in those days.

Put the emphasis on how rich you really are in the Lord, and less on the riches of this old world.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Morning all, another beautiful day here in Georgia!

TaterTot, I bet those baby clothes sell well! My problem is the clothes I've taken are size 10 or smaller. There's no call for that round here. Nick wears his clothes out but I did take in a number of pairs of shoes. He outgrows shoes so fast!

Sue, Nick got sealants last week and it was nothing. They wash off the tooth and dry it. Paint sealant on the top of the tooth only and then dry it with the funny light. They do each tooth by itself.

Jim, did you do that with the children too? We buy paper at our friends dollar store. VERY sturdy stuff and very colorful.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

I got the result of the latest Tumor Marker test yesterday. PTL, still below 15! They also test liver, bones and I'm not really sure what (they draw 6 vials  ), but all the numbers were "perfect".

Sue, will definitely be praying for you, Brent and the Doctors.

I love that scripture in the Living Bible, Gayla.

Philippians 4:6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

I don't use that version but have found a number of verses that are so beautiful. This is one of them! I needed to be reminded of that promise today.

God is good, another day is here. Had another challenging night, but got good sleep from 6-10 am. Woke with a start. Guess time is irrelevant when you are "down" all day, anyway.

Will be up tomorrow for another battery of tests and they promise some results by Friday. My wife returns after lunch tomorrow - she is taking the grandkids to a goofy golf/go gart/paddle boat type amusement place and then chucky-cheese pizza. Spoiling them? Think so!

In my condition, I would be the proverbial albatross, so am glad I am home recuperating, kinda. Just not getting any better.

But God is good. His promises never fail. And though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.

Yes, Diane, that included the children. Amazing how inventive we all became over the years. We have strayed a little with the grandchildren, but remember, we hold "Christmas" in July, or whenever the grands come up here.

Keep looking up, Bob...the downside never lifted anyone, but leaves loads of room for hope and trust.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I love that scripture Dr. Bob. One translation says 'Tho He slay me, yet will I follow'...

We'll be praying that tomorrows test bring answers and answers to those answers!

Jim1999, would you believe I know families who give bikes for Valentine's Day and expensive presents for Easter or St. Patrick's Day? We DO celebrate Nick's adoption day in Nov. with a present and cake. It's the day he became, legally, our little boy so it's treated like a birthday. His birthday is only 4 days after Christmas so he gets very little birthday attention from the relatives.

Night Sue (and Brent). I get to stay up late! Ty is having so much fun at his grandmother's house in Alabama that his parents agreed to let him stay until this weekend. I still get paid but got a week off! In fact, 10 days off! I can sleep IN!

We'll keep praying Sue. I know YOU'LL do fine because Brent needs you to be brave.

    Sleep Well!

Well boys and girls... I'm signing off and going to snuggle with hubby while we watch some reruns.

    Sleep well and remember....

Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

    Good morning all:

I woke up at 4:15 after another restless night. It is raining again, but is supposed to be warm. I guess being wet and warm is better than being wet and cold!

Both Brent and I got DRENCHED TO THE SKIN doing the papers yesterday. We had to come home and take hot showers and change into dry clothes.

Brent will be riding with me, but for the next week, he will just be sitting in the car. I will be walking all 140 papers up to the houses. I sure hope he recuperates from his surgery FAST!

I am paying two subs for the papers tomorrow (one for each route) because Brent will not be dismissed from the hospital until after 3:00 p.m. and it is a 45 minute drive back home. I am also paying a sub for the 'corner'. We have to check in at the hospital at 9:00 a.m., so will be leaving here around 7:30 (not sure exactly how to get where I am going.

Good Morning Sue and all who come after! I didn't get enough sleep at all! My old cat got sick in the bathroom in the night and made quite a bit of noise. Couldn't get back to sleep once I got up and mopped.

Praying for Brent, Sue! I'm sure today will be a worriesome day for him and you.

Praying Dr. Bob slept well and that the tests this morning give him answers and show healing taking place!

2 Corinthians 4:13 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken. "With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

I haven't told Brent he is having surgery tomorrow, so he will be able to enjoy making cookies and attending the Kings Kids weiner roast at church tonight.

I asked him if he wanted me to tell him in the event of his surgery date being changed and he said he didn't want to know until that day - sooo.

Pastor Bob (Kansas) called me this morning and we were talking. He asked me if I had coffee on and I said that I didn't but could make some.

He said he could sure use some and I said, "Come on over". He walked in the door 60 seconds later and I was still talking to him on the phone thinking he was in Kansas! [IMG]

What a pleasant surprise and wonderful way to start the day! [IMG]

I am off to the 'corner'. See you when I get a chance to get back online today.

Boy Howdy and cool, drizzly morning. 40F here. Heavy fog has the wife grounded in Boise and we will see WHEN she gets to go to Salt Lake, then Casper.

Another horrific night. These are an experience I've never had before the past few weeks. Di full battery of tests this morning (fasting) but decided to wait a bit on the spinal. They just are shooting in the dark, trying to "guess" what might be sending my old body in this spiral.

Hope they find out before I crash and burn!

Feel great kinship with getting soaked doing papers, only I was doing sheets!!

God bless all this day. I'm learning to be content in every state . .

Dr. Bob, when will you begin to get any results on your tests? I'm so sorry you're still having such a bad time of it.

AWANA is tonight. Pastor Rick called with some names of people new to the community with children who would fit into my AWANA age group so I've got some calls to make this afternoon, explaining the program and inviting them to tonights club.

2 of the 4 kids I have today have LOTS of homework. They're having a snack and then I'll be 'school marm' for a while. We're having beef stew so I hope they'll eat it!

Talk to you all after AWANA most probably.

    Have a great afternoon!

I'm all about awana. Awana eat, awana sleep, awana do what I want and when I want to do it, are some of my favorite sayings.

Hello all. Wednesdays are usually busy around here, too. Usually I polish up my youth lesson and then prepare for choir practice. And today I am also doing more preparation for our Hallelujah Hoedown.
I just got an email asking if my girls and I would be the March photo feature in a calendar the local hospital puts out every year. (We go to Mommy and Me classes sponsored by this hospital.)
Never dreamed that *I* would be asked to be a calendar girl! LOL. Really, its because my kids are so cute. [IMG]

That is NEAT TaterTot! You'll have to post a copy when you get it.

AWANA is doing GREAT! We had every helper present tonight and only 2 clubbers out BUT we had 2 new members sign up! With the teens and a Dad helping, we finished listening to verses by 7:00 and I was able to get ahead of some ordering, etc.

Jim got to go to prayer meeting. I snuck in before it started and got a bunch of hugs. Also, I got to meet a new family in church. The little old ladies love my AWANA uniform and like to look at my awards. LOL I try to entice them to join. [IMG]

Go Red Sox!!! Tonight might just be the night!

I enjoyed my visit tremendously. I had spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and Pistacchio Jello Salad for supper.

Pastor Bob preached at church tonight on "Restoring the joy of thy salvation". It was a very good sermon and very timely (at least for me with all this worry I've been doing)!

Unfortunately, he is driving back home tonight. He just can't stay away from his parish very long. I would have loved to have him at the hospital with me tomorrow.

Brent's dentist appointment went fine. He got his sealants (some of them). He will get the rest after one more extraction and several more cavities filled.

He is in my bed watching "Mouse Hunt" right now. He knows about the surgery tomorrow and would never get to sleep in his own bed.

I bought him a pair of really soft pajamas to wear home from the hospital and am taking a blanket and pillow in case he wants to lay in the back seat and sleep.

He sent Nick an email tonight before church and thanked him for the 'games'.

Dr.Bob: I know all about the wet sheets. I wake up with 'hot flashes' at least five times a night!

Once Brent gets to sleep, I will probably have to get up and sleep on the couch where I will be cooler...

They prayed for Brent and I at church this evening. Don't ya'll forget to pray for us too. Brent should be in surgery at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow.

    Pleasant dreams all!
