It has much to do with demons. Greater is He that is in you. He that is in you is the Holy Spirit--if you are saved. The Holy Spirit is greater than any demon, greater than Satan himself. Satan cannot overcome the Holy Spirit. As long as one is indwelt by the Holy Spirit he cannot be indwelt by a demon. The Holy Spirit is greater, more powerful than that. Who possesses you? The Holy Spirit or Satan? Both cannot. It is either one or the other? (I use "you" in a generic sense--not referring to you personally).

2 Corinthians 3:15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

WHO is right Jimbo? ... Are you for real or 'playing' with us? The BIBLE is right. We've given you scripture and you claim to 'not see'. Scripture tells us when a person accepts Christ that the veil is removed and they can read and understand.

Jesus said to those who questioned him: John 8:43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

Becasue this verse is talking about satan, and the fact Jesus is in you and is greater. With Him you can over come satan.

The holy spirit is in our spirit and not in our whole body! You have your opinion and I have mine, arguing about it makes no sense.

Then why do you post thread after thread in an argumentative spirit?

It is clear that your opinion is that God is not worth trusting. A tragic opinion, but one that you have sadly chosen.

My heart breaks for you.

Do you remeber the story of the man that wandered among the tombstones naked. They tried to chain him, but they couldn't because he could break the chains. He, not just his spirit, was demon-possessed. The demon looks for a place to inhabit. When Christ addressed the demon, He found that He was not addressing one, but a thousand, for his name was legion (meaning a thousand). When he cast them all out, what did the demons do? The immediately went and inhabited the bodies of a herd of swine. Then the swine went in a rage over a cliff and were all killed. Take note that animals do not have spirits like man. How then do demons inhabit spirits?? No, they take over the entire body, especially the mind which controlls the body.

1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Mark 5:1-20 is the definitive passage on demon possession and its effects in the Bible.

1. Devils want to be near dead human bodies or tombs (vs. 2, 3, 5).

2. They can cause unusual strength (vs. 3-4).

3. They can make a person unreasonable or immune to sensible persuasion (vs. 4).

4. They cause excessive crying (vs. 5).

5. They cause sadistic and masochistic behavior (vs. 5).

6. They have an affinity for heights (vs. 5).

7. They recognize Christ as "the Son of God" and appeal to Him (vs. 6-7).

8. They know they deserve torment and dread it (vs. 6-7).

9. They have names (vs. 9).

10. More than one can possess the same body (vs. 9).

11. They desire to stay in the same geographical region or "country" (vs. 10).

12. They would rather indwell an animal body than none at all (vs. 12).

13. They can cause animals to kill themselves (vs. 13).

14. They desire to be in a body when it dies (vs. 13).

15. They have a desire for water (vs. 13).

Mark 9:17-29 gives us even more details about devils:

16. They can cause dumbness and deafness (vs. 17, 25).

17. They cause rabid animal like behavior (vs. 18).

18. They can indwell from childhood (vs. 21).

19. They cause suicidal behavior (vs. 22).

20. They resist leaving a body and violently "rent" it while leaving (vs. 26).

21. There are different kinds of devils. Some have more power than others (vs. 29).

22. Some can only be removed by prayer and fasting of believer (vs. 29).

Demons can buffet and bother believers. I have seen it first hand in a church I pastored.

All I can say is that it is our choice to not engage demons. I have seen in m y lifetime those who think they can rebukde Satan. I see nothing in scripture that indicates that this is the way to deal with Satan.

James 4:7-8, "Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."

Then what do you say about this?

http://www.banner.org.uk/dev/xdemon2.html

EXPERIENCE SPEAKS OUT
Grayson Ensign, a former Bible College professor and missionary to Jamaica made this statement:

" We have empirical evidence that Christians have been invaded by evil spirits, for we have extensive notes on the more than one hundred and fifty with whom we have worked in securing deliverance by the Lord Jesus Christ….Our testimony is grounded in literally hundreds of hours of deliverance work where we have experienced the most wonderful liberation of Christians from the control of evil spirits. We have been reared in a tradition that taught demons could not invade or control people and certainly not Christians. We tested every conceivable theory of explanation for what was happening. The only explanation that was systematically consistent and in harmony with the Word of God was that our brothers and sisters had been invaded by evil spirits" (1).

Kurt Koch, famous author of "Occult Bondage & Deliverance" and "Christian Counselling And Occultism" as well as many other books on cults and the occult, says the subject of Christian demonism is "hotly disputed" amongst Christians. He is right. However, he says that in his experience (which I am sure is enormous) only those who have no experience of deliverance stick to the "no-invasion" theory. Koch then gives a list of many noted ministers, doctors, professors and psychiatrists who DO believe it is possible for Christians to be demonised, because they have seen it.

He also says:

"I met a missionary in Africa who had actually been possessed himself for a period of eighteen months. He, like many others, had previously believed it was impossible for Christians to be possessed. However, his own experience made him change his theological outlook." (2)

Another person who found out that demons could indeed use Christians is Jessie Penn-Lewis, who experienced the Welsh Revival, and saw the excesses and satanic counterfeits that arose because of it. Her book "War On The Saints" is a much-valued work today because it has many modern parallels. Penn-Lewis writes of a case known to her:

In the Spring of this year (1912) [a certain Christian] who was possessed came here, and the spirits possessing her spoke through her in voices utterly unlike her own. They would utter through her the most awful blasphemies against God, and against our Lord Jesus Christ, and would prophesy concerning the Church…

(later)…Much prayer has been made for her, and with her. When the frenzy comes upon her, she is fearfully shaken, dashes about the room, is made to howl like a dog, her hands clenched, her face drawn with horrible contortions, etc. But the marvel to every one is that, although the frenzy is upon her every day, and sometimes once, twice or more in one day, her health is perfect, she sleeps well, and in the interval is THE MOST LOVELY-SPIRITED CHRISTIAN WOMAN."

This sister is not one who has not got faith. She is well grounded in the same faith, and has the same light as we have; but we have here to do with a demon, the like of which I have never met before, nor read about…" (3)

The woman in question was delivered, but not before much prayer and warfare against the demon had been accomplished. It was a lengthy process over a number of weeks, in which the demon was first muted, then silenced, and finally driven out by the authority of the name of Jesus, accompanied by howling and vomiting. The woman, freed from all effects of this horrible experience, was able to return to her missionary work.

Does this not show that popular theories should be tested in the light of the evidence, both biblical and factual?

So we believe some man we don't know or believe the Bible, Jimbo?

You said:

The BIBLE says...

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Jimbo, I challenge you to not post another thing until you can show a Bible verse to support your stand on any of the issues you keeping throwing out. I honestly wonder if you're a troll!

This is not nice.
Why should I be a troll?
This is silly! Do you think I have nothing better to do than trolling? And do you think a troll would have bible knowledge?

You are making me fell pretty unappreciated here, I don't even dare asking new questions cause people think I'm a faker....

I question your sincerity, Jimbo, because you claim to be a protestant yet doubt and refuse every scripture we share! If you won't believe the Word of GOD....

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Trolling consists of provoking large volumes of responses by posting absurdities.....

how about some scripture?

1Corinthians
3:9
For we are God's fellow workers, you are God's field, you are God's building.
3:16
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you
6:19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
2Corinthians
6:16b
For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them ;....

No argument on my part what so ever, not sure how you got that.

Excuse me Diane,
but the word of God is pretty much an issue of interpretation! There are also christians which will not agree with your stuff and back it up with the bible.

Here is the heart of your problem, and as it seems by a lot of your posts(I ahven't read all of them), you put authority in either yours or someone elses expereinces rather then scripture. It does not mattewr what anyone beleives or experiences if it isn't in scripture. God and His written word are the authority where we are to get our beliefs, never, ever experience.
