Hey! We are back! We got back about 2:15 this morning. We are a little tired, but it was a great trip. Poor Cinderella (the turtle) had knocked off her intake tube on her pump, so her water was a big mess when we got in. It's clearing up now. Now I am off to pick up SierraThibodauxCinderella (the bird) from the bird-sitters house. We really missed her!

Glad to be back and getting back into the groove!

WELL praise the Lord Dr. Bob! I'm so happy to hear this. Looks like prayer works! Hope this means you're feeling MUCH better.

BTW... I was looking up meds when I had the bladder infection and found neuropathy as a possible side effect for a number of them! Seems like the cure can be worse than the condition!

Again, my family is very happy to hear this praise. Nick has been so worried about you and Gib. [IMG]

Notice, Notice... In case someone replies to one of my recents posts on the 'hot threads', I'm not hit and running... We're leaving in a few minutes for Birmingham with some friends for the Gaither Concert and dinner. It's a 'treat' from Jim's old boss and his wife who are still our dear friends.

Probably won't be home til after midnight so sleep well, y'all!
    Diane

Have a blessed time Diane. No one deserves a break, dinner, concert and evening out more than you and Jim.

Except maybe me. Any extra tickets? [IMG]

DR. BOB: BOY HOWDY, GREAT NEWS in Casper. Got my last batch of tests back and my liver functions (that had previously had all the signs of Hepatitis) all fell back in the normal range.

I rejoice with you and wasn't aware of your serious health issues. You will be remembered in prayer. Thanks for the sharing of your faith as you also suffer in this body of flesh. May God strengthen and heal you.

A quick good morning all! The concert was wonderful but 5 hours long! Birmingham is 1 1/2 hours from here (and a different TIME ZONE) so we got home and in bed at 3:00 a.m. My boys are still asleep but it only takes a few minutes for them to get ready for Sunday School. I'll sure need a nap today.

We got to meet a youth minister in a spirit filled church and a Russian exchange student who had been the translator for Jim's old bosses church group when they've gone to Russia on mission trips. That was interesting. I'd never had a face to face conversation with someone about 'Holy Laughter' before. I held my own and owe it all to the boards!

Well, my cup of tea is getting cold and I've got to shower and 'put on my face' for Sunday School.

Hope everyone slept well and Dr. Bob, remembering your long drive to preach today.

    Diane

    Good morning all;

Glad you had a nice time Diane . I bet if felt strange to get out of the house! I like the Gaithers and have several of their CD's.

Will be praying for you on your preaching 'trip' Dr. B.

Papers are done. We let Brent sleep in this morning and hubby and I delivered them and stopped by a local restaurant for some mouth-watering biscuits and gravy.

We don't have much time alone anymore, so we lingered over three cups of coffee (decaf for me) and had a nice chat.

Brent was still asleep when we got back home. He is eating breakfast now and then will be getting dressed for SS.

I am about to put a pot roast (and potatoes and carrots) in the crock pot for dinner.

Have a good Lord's Day (not that they aren't ALL His!)

It did feel strange to get out of the house, Sue! We had plans to eat out and I was looking forward to that but the Russian girl was at the ministers house way out of Birmingham so we quickly ate pizza.

We had another great day at church. Our kids in Sunday School were a little wired but I guess it's the upcoming holidays. No school til Monday week. Pastor had another great sermon and we had 7 in second service come forward. 5 are for baptism after being won to the Lord in the last few weeks and 2 transfering their letter.

It rained all day and I took a nap. [IMG] Now I need to iron Jim's work shirts for one of his jobs.

I don't have to get up early this week! Ty's mom only has to work 24 hours because of the holiday so instead of 4 10 hour days, she's working 8-5 Mon thru Wed. The girls are to come only Tuesday and Wednesday LONG DAYS right now. (Who KNOWS with them???) The brother and sister will be Mon - Wed from about 2:00 ish until Mom gets in about 6 or so depending on the highway traffic. She works WAY on the other side of Atlanta.

What's everyone else doing this week?
    Diane

I am off 'the corner' Thursday-Monday, but still have to do the papers (including having them delivered by 6:00a.m.) Thanksgiving, Saturday, and Sunday.

I even have to deliver them early on Christmas morning!!! 365 days a year...

Other than doing papers, watching Macy's parade and cooking Thanksgiving dinner we aren't doing anything Thursday.

Dale is off work 4 days also so we are moving some furniture around Friday and maybe we will get out some Christmas decorations.

    Howdy yall!
We had a great day at church too. I really enjoy being around my church family. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at church today, and it was great. GUMBO!!! Need I say more? And there was even low carb.

This week will be normal for us until Thursday. We'll go to my mother's house in Mobile and spend the night with her. My grandmother lives in an attached apartment. My brother was in Iraq last year, so we didnt even have a Thanksgiving gathering (mama was depressed). This year, his family is going to the wife's family, so we wont get to see them.
DH's family is a litle odd. Last year, they hosted the 2 great-grandmothers (DH's grandmas) and his brother, but didnt invite us. He only has one brother who is (high functional) retarded.
This year, its the same, and when we discussed making plans with them, they said they didnt have room for us (Go figure THAT!!)but we can stop in and visit. Whatever! Then the truth came out - they wanted me to host them here yesterday, but we had gone on our trip to Texas and it messed up their plans. I guess they think they are punishing us or something. So we are going to my mother's (same town) and we arent planning on stopping by and visiting the inlaws.
What mother would exclude one of her two sons (and her ONLY grandchildren) from a holiday get together?? OK, maybe Diane's mom would! [IMG] And really, we dont WANT to go there, but this is our kids' grandparents, and we want them to have fond memories.
I guess I just vented, didn't I? Sorry, didnt mean to drone on.
Other than that, things are peachy. My piano/voice students will be presenting a recital in 2 weeks and we are working hard toward that. At Christmas, we always have a keyboard ensemble concert as well. That is my most favorite part of teaching!! It is awesome. We set up keyboards across the front of the sanctuary and we also use piano and organ. And my 3 (almost 4) year old is working on one song with us. It will be her first time to play in a recital, if she can get it ready. She's almost there!
Well, I guess that's all from here. Gotta gave some hot tea before retiring with my book.
    Blessings!

    Good morning all:

Tater: Sounds like you have a busy week planned! What book are you reading?

It is in the 30's here this morning. 19º is forecast for Wednesday night with a chance of SNOW! Brrrrrrrrr! Will have to bundle up warm to deliver papers early Thursday morning.

This week is busy for us also. Amid the Thanksgiving celebration, we are making some changes in the house and decorating, shopping, etc.

    Cruising,

    Good morning all!

Looks like I'll be able to close down the detour on my State job today - the bridge is gone - the embankment built - the pavement in place - the guide rail installed - now just a few minor details to tend to - and we can open the road back up - and get the traffic off the residential detour.

Yesterday at church - just before the sermon - I announced that we would be doing things a bit differently today. I told the congregation to turn to Colossians 1:16 (I've been in Romans for over five years - and am only in the 11th chapter) - when the gasping stopped - I went and sat down by my wife - Tim Terboss (Belovedson) got up and preached. When he was done - his identical twin brother, Matt Terboss (Shinja) got up and preached.

It was fun pulling one over on the congregation - especially seeing how they pulled one over on me the week before with "Pastor's Appreciation Sunday" the week before. Last night - while taking Matt home from Sunday evening church - I told him he would be preaching more than me this month. Me once - the first Sunday of the month - he - the second and third Sundays. Next week my head deacon preaches. By the first week of December - I'll probably have forgotten how to preach!

Well hey Dan! That was funny! 5 years... and only 11 chapters??? Oh Blackbird! There's gotta be a joke in there somewhere.

In the "You never know what God will do!" department -
My daughter and I usually have about no more than 25 kids for "Sunday Bible School" that goes from 9:30 - 12:30. Last week we sent flyers home announcing that we were rearranging our schedule to make the first hour a rehearsal for a Christmas program - songs, speaking parts, etc. WELL, yesterday over 40 showed up, all on time, because they all want to be in the program!! And a few of the regulars were missing. Needless to say it was a zoo, but we all had a grand time! At least I did! Since it was Thanksgiving Sunday, my daughter got out the entire stock of Thanksgiving crafts and made it all available, so that part of the day wasn't a problem. The thing that amused me was, both the pastor's and assistant pastor's wives had to be "drafted" to help! I think God was laughing at the controled chaos!

Now if we can just get the parents out for keeps...

Good morning all! Is everyone ready for all the cooking this week? I sure hope so. I deep fried 2 whole chickens yesterday and the were really good and tender. So the trial run was a success.

    Have a good day all!

Yikes Debby! I'd probably freak out if I had to do 3 straight hours every Sunday! God Bless You!

The girls I keep are not supposed to come on Monday's but mom left a message while I was out that she was going to bring them for 5 or 6 hours today! They'll be here in time to eat lunch, she said.... I had hoped to get some work done today too. Best laid plans. :(
