For those who are tired of the endless debate over whose right and whether or not your being good enough or right enough, I offer the following. It's about Jesus not about you or me:

    Here's an article from lovinggrace.org.

    His Resting Place Is Glorious

    by Rev. Wayne Monbleau

"In that day the nations will resort to the root of Jesse, who will stand as a signal for the peoples; and His resting place will be glorious."

    Isaiah 11:10

Do you know why God’s resting place is glorious? This section of Scripture, from the prophet Isaiah, spoke of a future time for the people of Israel, a time of peace in which there would be no fear. Verse 1 of this chapter from Isaiah began by saying, "A shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit." This was speaking about the coming Messiah, Who would be a "signal" for all peoples to behold and to be drawn to. The Hebrew word for "signal" in this verse is "nes" which means: a standard, a sign, a banner. God was telling His hurting people that Messiah was coming. He would appear like a banner for all to see, that all might come to Him for life, peace, safety and healing. And as the closing verse from Isaiah 11 said, "His resting place will be glorious."

Jesus Christ is our "signal." He is God’s "sign" to all of humanity. He is our flag waving upon a hill so we may be drawn to Him. Our Messiah desires us to come to Him; for salvation, for the establishment of His peace in our lives, for safety, for eternity, and to experience the rest of knowing His presence.

Why is God’s resting place glorious? Because, as our Savior said, when He prayed His great prayer to His heavenly Father on the eve of His crucifixion on our behalf, "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see my glory" (John 17:24). God’s resting place is glorious because Jesus is there! God’s resting place is glorious because He desires us to be with Him there! God’s resting place is glorious because He is glorious!

When we go to our resting place in communion with God, let us always go with the conscious thought that we are going to meet with Him, our beloved Savior, Who desires this intimate fellowship with us. Our resting place is His resting place, where we mutually come together, enjoying each other’s company and presence. Yes, that future day will be glorious when we step into eternity with Christ our Lord, seeing Him at last face to face, with every tear wiped away from our eyes. But God’s resting place is glorious now too, and now is the time we really need to experience His glorious rest.

Now is when we need the strength of His presence, the peace that passes understanding so we may stand and be strong, in the power of His might, as we live each day of our lives in this world.

Now is when we can benefit so much from taking that time, those precious moments and extended hours, to bask in the restorative wonder of His love.

Now is when we can go to our resting place, letting all fears and anxieties melt before Him, being replaced with the fullness of His Spirit.

Now is when we can realize that as we rest in Him, in all that He is and all that He has done, that we are dwelling in His resting place, His Own house that He has invited us to.

Our gracious Savior actually desires our presence in His presence. He wants us to be with Him. He has asked His Abba Father that we would be with Him so we may behold His glory. Jesus Christ, our Beloved Messiah, is requesting the honor of your presence in His dwelling place!

Today, Let us not miss this grand privilege of looking to our "signal." Look to Him now. Hear Him calling you, by name, to Himself. He is requesting your company. He desires you to come and be with Him, in His resting place.

As we practice letting our Savior be a "signal" to us, drawing us joyfully and expectantly to Himself, then we will more readily reflect Him, in spirit and in truth, so He may through us become a "signal" for others to see, so they too may one day gratefully declare, "His resting place is glorious."

"Nevertheless I am continually with You; You do hold my right hand. you will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to honor and glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You. My FLESH AND MY HEART MAY FAIL, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever." (Psa. 73:23-26)

Jesus said "Lo I am with you always even unto the ends of the earth."

"Does he look over his finished work and pronounce it good?? anything else would be unbelief...wouldn't it?"

Dare any of us just rely on the "faith" of Jesus Christ?

What if "man" tells you, "you didn't do
    this....you didn't do that........you
    did this..........you did that?"

Isn't that the judgement to be overcome?

Aren't there "two" judgments? One is the
opening of the book(s) where one is
judged "according to their own works"
by the thoughts of others excusing or
    else judging one another?

And then there is "THE" book called the BOOK of LIFE.

What is written in THIS book for you?

Isn't it that He pronouces HIS Work
    GOOD?

It all hangs on that, doesn't it?

Cause there was none righteous, no not
    one.

    Well, yes........there was ONE!

Will He honor what HIS Son did, more
    than He honors us?

How foolish to think that "our" works
be they good or bad, would be looked
upon "by God" to be able to stand......
the lofty looks of man shall be
    humbled, and HE alone, glorified!!!!!!

And we shall be like Jacob, limping
    from the wrestling match.

Has anyone ever noticed that God never mentions everlasting damnation once to any of his prophets, kings or priests in the entirety of the Old Covenant...these men and women many of whom he spoke face to face heard judgment from God always followed by a promise of restoration.

Adam..nope.. Genesis 3:14-15 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it (THE SEED, JESUS CHRIST) shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. JESUS CHRIST TRIUMPHS

The first murderer Cain... nope.. Gen 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. Whoa….does anyone else see God’s covering here?

Abraham...nope... Gen 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? Whoa. Abraham? The liar and deceiver. The one who in UNBELIEF took matters into his own hands and made a son with Hagar when he didn’t see God’s promise of a son forthcoming?

Moses… nope...Exd 4:1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. Talk about UNBELIEF. He was standing in the presence of God Almighty, the Great I AM and said NO to God. Sheesh. But God made a way to save His people Israel anyway. HE DID IT.

And yet in the New Covenant comes a Savior, Jesus Christ (God Saves from sin) AND now there’s nothing but judgment and condemnation preached from the pulpits of the world. Christ led the captives free and holds the keys of Death and Hades, but YOU have make the right decision in order for Him to save you.

Why it is so hard to believe that God is good and that he loves? Hell becomes the stumbling block. Something that is the invention of man becomes the stumbling block of the redemption that is found in Jesus Christ. \o/

Even Daniel saw the redemption and restoration of our Great God and Savior:

Dan 7:8-14 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. (9) I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. (10) A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. (11) I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. (12) As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. ******* (13) I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. (14) And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that ALL people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.********

But does anyone lift up this great God and Savior. No, it’s the beast everyone is interested in lifting up. The beast and all beasts were DEFEATED at the CROSS, folks. Wherever the curse is found (Genesis), Christ, the Seed, will bruise its head. God is reconciling the world to Himself through Christ – not counting men’s sins against them. Anyone else see this?

All glory, praise and honor to You, Almighty God.

    Let's see, Adam, Moses, Daniel?

    What about....

    Malachi?

    yup.

    Daniel?

    yup.

    Isaiah?

    yup.

And let's see, you ignored those, how about this:

    23. Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
    24. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
    25. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;
    26. Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

I will not magnify this god that you have created.

The God I know is of JUDGMENT along with His mercy. His judgment is PART of His mercy.

    God Bless

    Hi 3,

I was wondering where you've been.

There's only ONE God and Father of all. His punishments and judgements are just BUT not everlasting. He is the ONLY thing that is everlasting - the only eternal One.

I don't want you to think that I want you to change the God you worship. That's your business. I'm just lifting up Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Jesus Christ, Savior of the world.

I guess if you have a problem with that you'll have to speak to Him about it. [IMG]

Blessings to you in the Savior, GH

    GH,

I've been here, and you didn't ever respond to my last post in the other thread.

God's Judgments are ETERNAL. His Judgments are EVERLASTING.

His judgments are JUST. Why? Because HE is all those things, and His Judgment emminates from HIM.

I don't have a problem with what the Bible says. I agree with it 100%

The problem I have is with YOUR theology, saying that the judgments that God will commit, will NOT be everlasting, and NOT eternal.

    THAT is just not Biblical.

You made a very false statement. You said that NONE of the Old Covenant Prophets spoke of God's Eternal, Everlasting judgment.

I pointed to 3 of God's Prophets that DO indeed speak of EVERLASTING judgment, and that, is what WILL happen.

He will judge the WHOLE world. Some will awake to life everlasting, others to EVERLASTING contempt. EVERLASTING.

That means that no matter how you slice it, whether there is eteranal punishing or eternal punishment, HIS judgment will be FOREVER.

    God Bless

Sorry 3, I didn't see it. Do you remember which thread?

But sis, really, must we argue? Isn't knowing the Savior of the world enough to find fellowship?

You lift up His judgments - I lift up His love. Each in her own way is lifting up Jesus. Does the hand tell the foot what to do? And isn't God big enough to be in control of His Body? Or must the Body become the Head?

Oh well, I know you won't agree with me - that's OK. It won't stop me from proclaiming the Good News to all with ears to hear. Let's love people into the Kingdom. May they see the beauty of our Lord.

Jesus Christ, Savior of the world, especially of those who believe.

    Love in Him, GH [IMG]

    GH,

Your doctrines are dangerous. They make people think that they can live however they want, and do what ever they want because in the end, all will be saved.

You still seem to MISS the point of the passage I posted.

    READ IT AGAIN.

Jeramiah 9: 23.

Do you know this God? Love AND judgment, and RIGHTEOUSNESS, IN the earth. He DELIGHTS in these things.

    Love
    Judgment
    Righteousness

LOVE....that He loved us, and sent His Son.
Judgment....that He will judge the WHOLE world.
Righteousness.....in the earth, because AFTER He destroys the works and workers of the devil, there will be NOTHING else but God, and those who have HIS righteousness. God will be ALL in ALL.

You are my sister in Christ, but you greatly err in your perception of God.

IT IS a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.

OUR GOD is a CONSUMING FIRE.

He will DESTROY the wicked. OUT OF LOVE.

    God Bless

I seem to see a never ending..even "eternal" problem when God and Mercy and judgement are mentioned within the same context.

We can say that a true statement exists when we say that God is infinite Love, mercy, and forgiveness.

We can also say that within the context of the statement that God is infinite justice which statement are also true..

    taken within proper context.

in an existence of perfection and complete harmony. ie...no sin or error. the two different attributes exists together...but unfortunately

    Sin exists.

therefore infinite mercy will demand mercy infinitely and eternally. and would be in total opposition to infinite and eternal justice which would be demanding infinite judgement against the error in question. the two attributes never being able to co-exist eternally.

but God says that he is to be all in all.

the two attributes can co-exist in harmony together. we see at some point in the future error is eliminated. therfore the correct conclusion would be...no sin.

thats where The Sacrifice of Jesus for all Sin becomes the answer to Gods infinite problem.

Within the Love of God Is the Sacrifice of Jesus.

This is HIS LAMB for the sin of the WORLD.

(that applies a covering or justifying or administering mercy towards all sin). Not eliminating as in annihilation of the human being but taking each and every persons Place in front of the bar of Justice of the Father. therefore no sin and yet all live and continue under Gods plan of salvation in the future.

The justice of God is Satisfied..whereas One man died for all..Jesus.
Infinite mercy has accomplished its purpose. and now infinite mercy and infinite justice can once again co-exist together infinitely.

Jesus covering all debt is the only absolute and viable answer to Gods problem.

the judgement that you are viewing within the scriptures are possible pointing towards another conclusion. perhaps the judgements that God administers are within HIS OWN Family...whereas no one is lost..they are judged in their error and reproved within justice and the administering of his mercy.

    Hi 3,

    24. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. Yes, yes, yes.

I love Jerimiah, the weeping prophet. I could relate to him alot. Shedding tears for the world for those who do not know Him and His beauty.

I'm glad you brought Jerry up cause in chapters 30 - 33 after slapping the Jews upside the head our LORD says that He will RESTORE them. Read it, it's so cool.

And I'm happy that you consider me your sister in Christ, as I do you. Christ being the common denominator. I don't know about you but my works are as filthy rags in His sight. I'm just fixing my eyes on Him. If that's wrong.....well I don't want to be right.

As it says in Genesis, as far as the curse is found.....her Seed will bruise its head. Now you KNOW that is loosely paraphrased, but I think you get my point.

There is nothing and no one that can stop God's love from restoring and reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus Christ. He is ALMIGHTY, ya know.

Please pray for me if you think I'm in error, but remember that Jesus is interceding for me as well. I'm covered in His blood, not because of anything I did but because of what HE did.

Well, I got the Good News in again didn't I? [IMG]

    His mercy triumphs over judgment.

    Love in Christ, GH :D

    GH:

    "mercy truimphs over judgment"???

Ps 89:14. Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

Psalms 101:1. I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

David seemed to think they went hand in hand.

Let's see, Judgment. It has 3 parts. One is on the House of God, One on the wicked, DONE by the House of God, and One that is the execution of that judgment. Let's look that the executive judgement for a minute. What will happen there?

Rev 20:11. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
    12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
    13. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
    14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
    15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

In the LAKE of FIRE. They are judged, from the books, and then CAST into the lake of fire. What does the Bible tell us about the Lake of Fire?

Rev 21:7. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
    8. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Did you see WHAT got them there? And what is the outcome? Death.

Who will aviod this fate? You say all. But what does the Bible say?

Rev 2:11. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Rev 20: 6. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

NOW, who are those who 'overcome' and 'take part in the first resurrection'?

1 John 5: 1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 6. This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

John 5: 25. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27. And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

That my friends is called exigesis.

    Pure and simple.

There is a judgment coming for the wicked. It's end is DEATH.

What do you think God is going to do to the wicked who are raised in the second resurrection?

    God Bless

I am just wondering what translation of the Bible you use because these verses don't match any of my Bibles. Maybe that is why you think everyone is going to be saved one day! [IMG] Just kidding with you.

    Hi bros. Neal and Chrift,

I am just wondering what translation of the Bible you use because these verses don't match any of my Bibles. Maybe that is why you think everyone is going to be saved one day! Just kidding with you.

I’m chuckling here. No I believe that all will be saved because of God’s nature: He is Love and He is a consuming fire. Seemingly, opposites but actually they are in agreement. How could it be anyway else with our Lord? Now finding that reconciliation of the two seeming opposites results in: Jesus Christ, Savior of the world, especially for those who believe. It works for me. One righteous act wiping the slate clean. It’s either Him or me - I choose Him cause I can’t do anything without Him. Get my drift?

The verses I posted are a play on words and not meant to be compared with the actual psalm. I figure people have been mistranslating and misquoting scripture from the beginning to fit their theology– so I thought I’d have a little fun with y’all. The real Psalm works for me too. I especially like the “His mercy endures forever part.”

Because God cannot do anything that is contrary to His nature He could not simply erase our transgressions against the law, but sent His son to be a ransom.

Psalms 25:6-7 Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness' sake, O Lord.

Ps 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.

How does He do this? Jesus Christ, the righteous: And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the river to the ends of the earth. As for you, because of the blood of MY covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit. Return to your fortress, O prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you. Zec. 9 (now what did Israel do to deserve that?) God plus nothing, that’s how. Salvation cannot equal Christ plus anything else.

    Now THAT’S Good News.

Peace, mercy and grace to you both in Christ, GH

PS to 3AM: I’m working on my reply to you sis. Busy today though and I don’t know when I’ll get back to you. Warning: It’s gonna be long and it’s gonna be loving.
