I took the test, on only 3 hours of sleep, as planned (not the sleep part) on August 13th.

I received an email 3 days later telling me that there was a vacancy in the Temecula Inspection station (the town I grew up in). AFTER they told me at the test that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to hear ANYTHING.

In that email they informed me that I would receive my test results within ONE week!

    I got it yesterday.

I scored a 98 on the test, and was awarded an overall score of 103 based on my Military experience.

God bless you all for praying for me.

    It worked. [IMG]

The next step is the oral interview. I will let you all know when that is so you can AGAIN pray for me!!

    God Bless,
    Kelly

Kelly, I'll keep praying. I prayed for God to open the doors if this is his will for you and your family and the doors have been opened. Praying for blessings to abound!

Now that you have a few 'off' days, head on over to Other Religions and talk to those guys!

    Kelly,

    98% is an impressive score...Congratulations !!!

The only thing I come close to scoring 98% in would be cavities in my mouth.

(Oh yes; my wife weighed 98 lbs when we got married and she hasn't even raised
that figure by much) ........course she likes it that way.

    God Bless,

    Thank you Diane!

    I have some cool news.

I found out the other day when I went to the optometrist that I have 20/200 vision.

The US Border Patrol requires that you have 20/ 100 uncorrected vision. :(

I began to pray immediately. If this was God's way of telling me that this wasn't His Will, I wanted to KNOW!!!

I have the option of LASIK surgery to correct my slight nearsightedness. It costs anywhere from $1000 an eye to $5000 an eye depending on what doctor I see.

WHERE would we get that KIND of money, I prayed!

The next day I was called by our Real Estate agent that is trying to sell our house in Arkansas.

There is someone who wants to buy it. For $5000 more than we own on it.

It is MUCH less than we are asking, but it is PLENTY to get us FREE of the note (so we can buy another house) and PLENTY left over to have the surgery on my eyes!

I found a surgeon here in SD that is world renouned for his work in the LASIK industry.

They charge $2200 per eye, which with the $5000 we have from the sale of the house, I will have enough left over to purchase my plane tickets to get myself to SC (the USBP doesn't pay for that).

    Providence.

    God Bless,
    Kelly

Oh Kelly that is great! I have one bad eye. It's 20/400 WITH lenses. I have a cataract and drusen which is a collection of some stuff that is usually found when Macular Degeneration is starting. Vitamins are the only treatment.

God bless you! In fact, speak to the doctor's billing office and ask, since you don't have insurance, if they'll give you a break! They just might and that would be an extra blessing.

The VA did Jim's eyes for $800. but he had cataracts AND lasik surgery.

There is another way of looking at this event. Perhaps now you can get ahold of your financial situation without having to go to work.

Perhaps not. In any case congratulations! Your finances seem to be on the up swing.

We are told to expect answers to matters of daily concern.....God is not too big to
    overlook our finances, health, etc.

    Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

    Tuor,

Oh how I wish that were so. It would take more than just $5000 in equity to solve our debt!!

The part that makes us able to buy a house is that it will show on my husbands credit that we baught a house, and payed for it.

I will still have to work in order for us to afford to stop renting.

In fact I am working now. I am delivering pizza at night, and haven't seen my kids or husband for 3 weeks now. :( The bills are getting paid though.

Please no negativity on that. It's what I could get, and it is keeping us out of collections!

    God Bless,
    Kelly

    Diane,

    20/400!!!!

WOW. The optometrist explained what the whole 20/20 thing meant when I was there the other day. I had no idea what it meant.

    (for those who still don't....

It means that I, a person with 20/200 sees at 20 feet, what you see at 200 feet (assuming you are 20/20). )

Keep praying, especially over the next few days, we are counter offering his offer, and are now waiting to see if he takes it.

    God Bless,
    Kelly

Kelly, there is no shame in honest work for honest pay. You agreed with the pizza maker to deliver his product for a certain price. If you are holding up your end of the bargain, and the pizza maker its end of the bargain, you have honest work for honest pay. You are just as important in your role as "The Deliverer", that the pizza maker is in the role of "The Creator". I know you are bringing honor and Glory to God in the manner in which you do your deliveries. This is not a life long occupation, just temporary employment, so Hang in there girl! Friday cometh! That Friday when you hang up your "delivery" cap for the last time.

You sound a whole lot like the Proverbs 31 kind of Gal!

Thank you Yeslew for the kind words, they mean more to me than you will ever know.

I found out some MORE good news today!

I do NOT have to pay for my own plane tickets!!!

For some reason I was reading the info packet to say that I had to find my own way to the Academy. THAT is not the case.

The way the BP works, unlike the Military, you actually find out your duty assignment BEFORE you go to training! I have to find my way to THERE!

I have preference for Southern California and I was told by a very seasoned BP Agent that with my test score I will get what I asked for.

More likely than not I will get either El Centro CA or Chula Vista, both of which are within driving distance!

My hubby can drive me there and all I will have to pay for is the motel for 3 nights!

Then the BP will fly me out to the Academy (South Carolina)

    WONDERFUL NEWS!!!

    Praise God!

    God Bless,
    Kelly
