Prayer for the Election

    I pray, Oh, God, for this election in just a few short hours from now.

    I pray the man of Your Choosing will be elected President to carry this Nation forward for four more years.

    I pray Your Hand of protection upon all of the candidates, and above all, that all of the candidates will seek Your Face in all matters.

    I pray for this Nation and for Your Protection on this Nation, even though we don't deserve it.

    I ask for Your Precious Hand of Protection upon our Brave Troops who are in Harm's Way, and upon those of other nations who are serving with them, and for their Loved Ones and Families, whose hearts need your comfort and peace.

    I pray for your Holy Spirit to move across America and bring Repentence and Revival.

    I pray, Oh Father, for Your Perfect Will to be done, and commit the outcome of this Election to You.

    I pray for Peace.

    In the Blessed and Mighty Name of Jesus I ask these things, Amen.

    That is my prayer also,

    I was encouraged at church yesterday, no political demagoguery, no fear, just prayer that God's will would have free course, and that the next president will be lead by God through the many important decisions that will take place in the next four years.

    Today on the way to work, On the christian radio station, I heard some updates on the latest polls, etc, followed by an ad supporting Prop 2 in Michigan (Marriage Protection amendment) and I have been trying to avoid worrying or thinking about the election. The song they played following the ad was My Deliverer by Rich Mullins. What an encouragement. I am not waiting for a political ruler to deliver me, that has already been done. The disciples made the same mistake, waiting for Jesus to overthrow their oppressors, Peter taking up the sword, ready to help usher in the Kingdom. All I have to do is trust that
    "My deliverer is coming,
    My deliverer is standing by"


    Lord I add my voice to that of my brothers and sisters here on the Board, and across this nation.
    We know that America is great because you are good and gracious to us. We pray that would continue, and that you would be glorified not only by the results of this election, but by the actions of our government in the next four years. We praise you for your greatness, and your care for us. Help us to avoid anxiety and fear about the future, and that we would continue to stand by our principles and strive to become more like yourself. We pray all these things for the sake of the name of Jesus, and for his reputation alone,

    II Chronicles 7:14 tells us: "If my people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land" (NAS).
