Roll Call?

    Remember when we went to school and each morning there would be a roll call to see who was present and if anyone was absent. If someone was absent, it was necessary to find out why.

    In Sunday School Class, we have a brief time to discuss if women who are absent are sick, on vacation,have out of town company, etc.

    I wish we could have a check list and have everyone check in here in the women's section. I miss some familiar faces (names) on this board and I wonder if they are ok, busy, having fun, sick...whatever the reason, I miss them.

    I would do a roll call of names, but....I might overlook someone.

    So if you haven't posted in a while, I, for one, would like to hear from you.

    If you are too busy to post, just wave as you buzzzzz by.

    Honestly Betty, I think most of the women enjoy the more spirited areas of the board, where the give and take is with men and women, and being busy wives and mothers with limited time, don't check out the women's forum unless they see something in today's active topics.

    Remember too that this is a VERY busy time of the year for moms with younger kids! So many have children in sports and most nights are spent rushing from here to there! The weather is lovely too and lots of families are out and about! Spring and summer always sees a drop in posting on all boards.

    I read this forum all the time, but I don't always have much to say, and rarely can think of a topic I feel is worthy.
    On one of the polls it asked how many posts a day we average. For the almost 4 years I've been here I've averged 6.

    Diane, I was referring to the women who have not been posting for a while in any forum.

    I know I would like it if someone missed me if I were to stop posting. I have names of more than 30 women who are not posting at all and are still members of the BB. If I listed them I am sure I might over look someone and I wouldn't want to cause hurt feelings or embarrassment.

    So even if they are busy and don't want to post,
    I really miss them! Oh, while typing this, I just realized that I could PM them! [​IMG]

    Gracious Betty! We have over 8,000 member names and almost 5,000 on the active member list. 30 names is nothing if taken in context!

    Not trying to help start a quarrel here, but each of those 30 or more is an individual. I do miss those individuals, wish them well, and would be interested in how things are going. I'm sure Betty presented this as an opportunity, not pressure on anyone.

    Then send them an email checking on them! Seems a lot more 'personal' than requesting that people check in every day to be counted, doesn't it?

    Good evening! I agree, Karen! Personally, I think the intent of Betty's OP was really nice.

    As for me, I am OK and busy!! [​IMG]

    I really enjoy the Women's Forum, although I have been extremely busy at work lately, so haven't posted much because I'm usually drained when I get home. But I "watch" it pretty regularly and try to post when I have something to say!! Like now!! :D

    I tried reading some of the other areas where there is more debate and I've found I get too worked up. I like this much better.

    I know this post has been dormant for a while, but I'm now on summer vacation from work. I'm still around, but don't usually have much time for posting during the school year. Maybe I'll have more time this summer.
