How much do you think caricatures on a show like SNL can affect a presidential election?

    For example:
If SNL played up the 'Mystery of the Bulge' in President Bush's jacket during the 1st debate assuming the 'Bush was wired' angle of Blogworld...

Do you think that would have an impact on the general perception of uncommitted voters?

Not much impact at all. The show has been pretty stale for years. I used to watch it all the time in the 80's and 90's, but they stopped being funny and just became vulgar. I don't think many people even watch it anymore.

"The Daily Show" is more influential.

I have got to agree there. John Stewart either has better writers or is just naturally that funny. I would be far more likely to watch John Stewart than SNL. But, I think a network which is scoring higher ratings than all cable news networks combined might have more of an influence on the elections than even John Stewart.
