I had a discussion with a brother recently. He believes that there is a difference between fallen angels, unclean spirits and demons. I could show him easily from the Gospels that demons and unclean spirits are the same. But he still insists that fallen angels are not demons. I asked him to show me that in the Bible. He asked me to prove the opposite but I couldnĀ“t either. I belive that Satan fell and some angels with him. Those angels are now called fallen angels or unclean spirits or demons.

    Every help is appreciated.

Why does he believe that UnClean Spirits are not Fallen Angels?

Some of us believe there was a war in heaven and lucifer led a third of the angels in rebellion against God...

In the interim they were cast down to the earth pending God's Final judgement on them...

Angels are Spiritual Beings... Fallen Angels, being Spiritual Beings, could very easily be Unclean Spirits...

There *may* be a ranking among the fallen, though...

There are no scriptures, to my knowledge, that say definitively one way or another. Sorry.

    As for rankings...

Fallen Angels - took part in the rebellion against God...

Unclean Spirits - Fallen Angels who have continued to soil their 'wings' by instigating and being involved in unGodly activities. - That is they continue the rebellion today..

Demons - Fallen Angels who force their will upon Human Kind against Human Kinds desires and will...

These are off the cuff rankings... And, I am not at all sure they will stand any close scrutiny. [IMG]

Irregardless of the relative rankings, though, any being who has taken part in a rebellion against God is something I want to avoid. Period.

Humans can be forgiven... From my understanding of the Bible Angels can not...

You are right - they are all the same thing.

In Rev 12 you have the dragon, the serpent of old, the devil and Satan are all the same person.

In Matt 25:41 "The devil and HIS angels" - and you see this again in Rev 12 where Michael and HIS angels fight the "devil and his angels".

Matt 12:24-26 Christ seems to equate Satan and the ruler of demons and Beelzebul - so we see Satan and his demons is in comparison to Satan and his angels in Rev 12.

Notice that what Luke calls a demon (Luke 8:26-28) Mark calls "an unclean spirit" Mark 5:2-9.

The term demon seems to be a greek idea and equivalent to the Hebrew idea of an unclean spirit or fallen angel.

Recall that the good angels are called ministering spirits Heb 1:7-14
