    Good day all,

    Kelly, Elizabeth, and Micah got in last evening about midnight.

    We saw them off this morning. Abigail cried because she didn't want to leave - sure feels good to know that she loves to spend time with Nana and PopPop.

    Jim, the test results I mentioned were A1C test - the red blood cells live about three months - so this test gives an accurate reading of how I have or have not been behaving for the last three months. For a non-diabetic, a reading of between 4.0 to 6.0 would be considered normal. For diabetics a reading of less than 7.0 is good, although another expert organization says that below 6.5 is good. Mine went down 0.5 over the last four months - so that is good.

    The other scale we use for testing for blood sugar says that 80 to 120 is normal. This only tests what is going on right now - and behaving a day or two before testing can give an inaccurate data to the doctor - so they like the three month view.

    Dan

    Man- way too busy when I can't stop by for a cuppa joe and chit-chat. Of course, with the Cubs not playing, there was no reason to WHINE! :rolleyes:

    Unusual to say that, but Johnny Watson was a great old saint. Died unexpectedly after Prayer Meeting (went home, got on his pj's, sat on the side of the bed and leaned back and died). 82.

    Seven kids, 29 grandkids, 39 great-grandkids, 1 great-great grandson and then Mrs. Watson - they sang, whooped, preached, prayed. Full hour and I just sat there as a spectator. "Come Home, Come Home It's Suppertime" and the whole congregation joined on "Hold the Fort". Glorious.

    I have therapy in a couple minutes, so begged off of the graveside. But few funerals I've been to have been more of a celebration!

    Gotta run, then to the clinic and HOPEFULLY time to check back here this evening.

    Dan,

    I just keep a diary of daily injections and the five b/s tests I do each day. The doctor looks at my diary when I take it in.

    Our test strips register as
    Low Range: 1.3 - 3.0 (mmol/L)
    Mid Range: 4.1 - 5.7
    High Range: 11.3 - 15.3

    When I travel in USA I use this chart:

    60mg/dl = 3.3

    130 = 7.2

    250 = 13.8

    500 = 27.5

    I am never in the US long enough to worry about it and always have my own monitor and test strips..it is when I have to buy test strips, I must convert what I am reading, cos the little disk will be in mg/dl.

    We will be throwing all the non-diabetics into a fit here. It will be a foreign language.... [IMG]

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Hello everyone [IMG]

    Fridays are such busy days for me now. My first opportunity to post here. How are you all? I hope you are all well.

    Dan, well done on the weight loss. I am impressed.

    Sue, I had some "nice post" today, thank you and bless you [IMG]

    I also had a huge parcel in the post, well a note to tell me I had to go and collect it. It was the picture I had asked Rob's aunt to paint as my present to him for his 60th birthday next week. I am absolutely delighted with it. It is hard to believe that the aunt ( a wonderful woman) is in 90,s and has parkinsons.

    Well, the books beckon. I will try and look in later.

    God Bless,

    Sheila [IMG]

    Hi all, I just thought I would pop in and grab a cup of java to go. I am at work ( [IMG] ), and just about ready to head out to lunch. I will check back in later, but I thought I would say hi, to those who haven't yet seen my name flash around.

    The time difference is 6 hours until you all set your clocks back in the fall, then it's 5 hours... [IMG]

    It is that fellowship that makes Christians, especially baptists, truly wonderful. I look forward to immersing myself in that fellowship every chance I can. Thank you for the invite.

    I rescued a kitten!
    I was on the way home and saw the car in front of me surve, and when I got there it was a kitten. I went up the road and turned around and watched it to make sure it didn't get hit,a dn people just ran right over where he was, didn't stop, didn't try and dodge it. I pulled off the road in front of the hispital, and cars just kept going over him, and I was yelling the cats alive. I ran ut in the road and he had been injured and his back leg was broken. I tried picking him up but he hissed at me and crawled under a ladies car who stopped, traffic backed up about 30 cars and semitruck. I got him and went and put him on the grass in front of the hospital,and nurses and people came out and looked him, they too him to a vet to be put to sleep.
    I was so mad, people just kept running over him, they weren't hititng him, just not paying attention to him, not dodging him, he was under their car for goodness sakes. How heartless can peope be, he couldn't be saved, but there was no need to not care if they hit him or not.
    I'm just upset tonight.

    Aww Donna, I would be upset too. Wasn't necessary for the kitten to suffer like that. Some people unfortunately don't value life of any kind.

    Blessings

    Sheila, you can print this out as official permission to celebrate Monday as a bank holiday, and take the day off...Valid anywhere in Canada...In the UK, you may have to go to the nearest Canadian Consulate.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    PS. Enjoy Thanksgiving

    I am off to bed now. I was hoping I would have made 3000 today, rather yesterday as it is tomorrow here now .

    God Bless

    Oh Donna, that is awful! I wouldn't even hit a squirrel, let alone a cat! That just is so upsetting!

    Sheila, tell Rob Happy Birthday! I thought he was much younger than me! LOL But I thought everyone was younger than me except a couple of our guys!

    We had a young people's fellowship at church tonight.

    We have vacation Bible School during the summer. In the fall (this year - tonight) we have Bible School Reunion.

    The kids had a good time - it's fun to see them have a good time.

    The church has much more to offer than the world!

    This coming Sunday nite I am doing a "Pulpit Swap" with a preacher buddy of mine--he's preaching at my church and I'm preaching at his. Lots of Baptist preachers do this---some with other denominations---but Blackbird will stick with the Baptist boys!

    It'll be fun!!
