    Isaiah 54:17 (KJV1769):
    No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;
and every tongue that shall rise against
thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

    I hereby claim ALL
this promise in the name: Jesus,
on behalf of Sister I AM BLESSED 16.
I further ask Father God to lend His
BEST BLESSINGS unto Sister I AM BLESSED 16,
her family, and her ministry this very evening.

Night, Sue. I always wanted an old house to fix up, but that was when I had the energy to do it.

My son always said I should have a huge victorian house to decorate with all my "stuff"

In my younger days, I would have loved to have had a "bed and breakfast" house, but now I am content with bed and breakfast in my home. [IMG]

Gina, the daycare accident was a couple of weeks ago. The daycare workers had taken the kids on a field trip, unloaded them when they got back, didn't do a "head count" and didn't realize they had left a little boy in the van (strapped in his seat belt). I believe they were charged with "child endangerment".

The accident yesterday was at the little girl's home. The van was parked in the driveway, and allegedly she climbed in, closed the door and nobody found her until later. As of today, no charges are pending although they did haul off the van for "evidence".

I don't recall either of them involving a foster care situation, but I will try to find the articles on both incidents if you'd like. (Both stories were in the local paper.)

These kinds of accidents just break my heart.

My, oh my. Just came back from church and see that by mentioning the flan fleetingly, it picked up of its own.... [IMG] Thanks Sue for getting the recipe for the flan, and yes that picture looks exactly what we had (except it was a larger version and I had one third of that stuff). And, not to worry Brother Jim, cause I can eat the whole thing and not show on me at all. Dr. Bob, you are right, they do put on some sort of alcohol for the flavor, but ours did not have it and was just as good. The consistency (the hardness) of the flan is important.... and, oh yes, the browned sugar turned syrup on top is what makes it taste so good. [IMG]

    Good night all! [IMG]

P.S. Brother Blackbird, since we have these bakeries at every corner, I don't think we can corner the market anymore with the flan. [IMG]

We had a total of 559 in VBS tonight...325 kids, the rest were teachers, recreation and registration workers, and worship leaders. The actual number of kids was slightly lower than last year, and less than we had expected, but everybody seemed to have a great time! We are hoping more will come tomorrow night.

We are doing Kingdom Caper. I have noticed some of you have already done that at your VBS. What did you think about it?

    Night all!!

Sounds like a rousing success to me. If any get a little discouraged because numbers are "down", emphasize the more opportunity for one-on-one contact . . like the woman at the well after the rest left.

That's when Jesus does the good stuff!

    Good Morning All!

The coffee pot is brewing and the water is steaming for the tea; so come on it and sit a spell!

Ed: Thank you so much for the prayer and the thoughtfulness behind it! I'm not sure how you knew I needed that prayer, but I thank God that you did! [IMG]

Betty: This house is old, but it is not really that big. It is just one story. I wouldn't have the energy either to do a great big house...I'm having enough trouble trying to find the energy to fix this one. :(

Barnabas: There are so many different ways to make Flan...most of them contain custard of some kind, but not all of them. It sounds delicious, but unlike you, I could just smell it and gain weight.

I will be popping in and out...see ya'll later.

    Well good morning my friends!

Dr. Bo, Is your family home safe and sound? Congrats to your wife on the award!

Barnabas! Welcome Home, Sir! You were missed. Blackbird did behave nicely while you were gone. We only had to tar and feather him once. Now he's on retreat for a week.

Sue, thanks for the tea! I had my cup while hubby used my computer for his work. He's got 2 computers but keeps most of his files in mine. Go figure! LOL

Sheila has been awfully quiet! Hope she's okay.

Where's JIM1999? Have I just missed his posts?

CJ! Those numbers are great! The first night is usually smaller than other nights in numbers. We did Kingdom Caper's and the kids seemed to like it. I was Craft's Director so I didn't get involved in all the lessons except to have the crafts match them.

Well, off to check the rest of the board! Keep your Bibles open my friends! It's the only way to fight the devil!

    Good Morning Diane!

Jim has been busy drawing. I believe he said he had four projects going right now. He DID post yesterday about how different the Flan is here as opposed to Canada.

Jim: Whatever you are doing, you need to drop by for a cup of coffee and give your fingers a rest. Besides, we miss you! :(

Good Morning All! I have a praise report.

I just completed shredding all the old financial records, checks, etc. that Ed and I had. It took me a year, but it is finally accomplished.

These were blank checks from old bank accounts, etc. etc. etc. Couldn't throw them away without shredding and I sure didn't want to move them.

    Yeah!!!!!!

I tried to get my grandchildren to do them..Played Tom Sawyer and told them how much fun it is, but couldn't fool them. Thinking about it I should have offered to pay them. That might have worked, not sure.

When my looseleaf hymn book was all out of order,
my 8 year old granddaughter put it back in order in just a few minutes. It would have taken me hours to get it done. I was so grateful I paid her.

I've got to get busy. I need to update the church web site and then pack the four boxes that I need to pack each day.

Tomorrow, I take the dog to the groomers, the car to the car wash and I am going to go to lunch with my Sunday School Class. Maybe I should pack eight boxes today.

Hope you all have a blessed day.

I'll be checking in from time to time. Need those coke breaks.

CJ, that is very sad about those children.

When I worked in an emergency room, I observed that these accidents seem to happen when one parent or grandparent thought the other parent or grandparent was watching the child.

This is especially true when a large family group gets together.

The worse case I remember was a grandfather backing his car over the grandchild. Terrible.

Another problem is leaving children alone in the bath tub.

Enough of thinking about this. I am going to think happy thoughts and pray for all my grandchildren. Three of them are at church camp this week.

LOL.... Betty! I always try the Tom Sawyer approach too! LOL

That's neat about your granddaughter and the hymnal. And good for her too!

I've always wanted a big Victorian home or a farm house with a wrap around porch. Then I've also thought a log cabin would be nice. I love the older homes. So much personality.

Whoops... Nick wants something so back later.

    Good Morning Betty!

Wow! That's a lot of shredding! I need to do that too.

I thought you were ahead a few boxes? Just pack six today and then relax and enjoy yourself tomorrow. [IMG]

Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all ok. It is very hot over here in the U.K. we are just not used to it. I think I am going to look out some recipes for sorbets. Talk to you later.

It's hot here, too. AC's are going full blast.

We should be used to it, but you know it comes around every year and we still are surpised when the temp reaches 100+

Hi Sheila! We were wondering where you were hiding! Stay cool!

Here is a recipe I found for Sorbet that is VERY easy and VERY quick! I also provided a link at the bottom where there are 'gobs' of recipes!

    "INSTANT" SORBET

    Serving Size : 2 Preparation Time :0:00

1 can Peaches -- juice packed

Take a can of juice-packed peaches or pineapple. Freeze it for several hours. (That's right, just put the can in the freezer!) Open and dump frozen contents into food processor with metal chopping blade in place or into a blender. Process until desired consistency.

Note: You can also do this with frozen bananas. I
find this is a good way to use them this time of year when they get over-ripe so quickly. Freeze them* in "zip-lock" type bags - peeling them when frozen can give you frostbite! They end up very creamy--like very rich ice cream...but with no added fat, sugar, etc... *w/o peels

    SORBET RECIPES

    Enjoy!

Ed and Betty, we are with you in prayer as you are getting ready for the big move. Trust that the Lord gives you enough strength each day, and surrounds you with His grace, as you plan and pack your personal things together. I am glad you are both dropping in periodically to give us an update. God bless! [IMG]

Sue, I don't know if there are many ways to prepare the flan. But I know that what our daughter, Elizabeth, is making, it is very good. And occasionally we purchase it outside, and that is not bad either. [IMG]

dianetavegia, we appreciate your keeping house when the proprietor of the CGCH steps out! You really didn't pour tar over good ol' Blackbird, did you? [IMG]

I have never made any but am tempted to try that "Instant" recipe. [IMG]

Barnabas: I typed 'Flan' in at Google and got over 30 pages of recipes! There are many ways to make it, but I think the one I posted is one similar to what you are talking about.

FYI: There is an "Anniversary--July 16" card, further down in this forum, if anyone would care to sign it and give their well wishes to the couple.

    Thanks!
