    I agree.

I just find viewpoints like... "No, going overseas and trashing our president during a time of national emergency is unpatriotic" frightening. Since when is it unpatriotic to criticize a president? If the exact same words were said in St. Louis, would they be acceptable? The "overseas" here we're referring to is London, not Baghdad. These words were spoken at a concert for the public, not at a private performance for Saddam Hussein and the Republican Guard. If it's unpatriotic to speak one's mind when visiting non-enemy nations, I fear for this country.

Yes, they were made in FRANCE and GERMANY was to be there next concert.

Two countries that are not supporting us after we have supported them.

It was VERY inappropriate to say the very least.

I still think they said it because France and Germany are so anti-American right now and the 'Chicks' wanted to let them know they agreed so they would attend their concerts.

It comes down to the almighty dollar..once again!

    Blessings,
    Sue

No, not that bad. The Dixie Chick(en)s have not been photographed on an Iraqi anti-aircraft gun.

Well they may be allowed to express their opinion freely, but then, hey! So am I! ANd what they did was just plain dumb. I agree with I am Blessed. Dosn't it seem odd that they have these big concerts in these contries against us, and they apologized AFTER thier stuff was being boycotted?
I wouldn't know about their music. Havn't listened to contry music since I got saved, so I have no idea what's going on there, but I'm to the poiint nothing would surprise me.

"Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public official save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country"

I don't think anyone questioned their patriotism. The majority of us just don't agree with them, so we are expressing that disagreement by boycotting their products.

As for me, I didn't like their music anyway, so the boycott is not going to be hard for me to accomplish.

Let us all express our Constitutional rights; boycott the Dixie Chicks. [IMG]

Interesting side note, at George W.'s first gubernatorial inauguration, the Dixie Chicks sang. Of course, that was before Natalie Maines, the loud-mouthed liberal, joined the group.

I boycott the Dixie Chicks too.

...but only because their music is unforgivably bad. ;)

The President is the head of our country. When he makes a decision we should stand by him; much like a wife should stand by her husband when he makes a decision (good or bad).

The problem is we have too many heads (UN). We need to get rid of them. There can only be one head in a marriage; there should only be one head in our country.

Because he was duly elected by the majority of the people in this country and it is HIS job to lead us, no one else's.

I think it's called loyalty and God commanded us in the Bible to submit to those in authority over us.

You are right. Goodbye Earl is one of the sickest songs around. And on their latest video , Long Time Gone , interestingly enough, they refer to singing in a church choir.

Is this a suggestion to boycott this female country trio because they don't like Bush?...Well... I'm the only person in my family who likes Bush...am I supposed to boycott my family too? I would rather respect the Freedom that the U.S. has of free speach...they are entitled to their opinion as much as I am of mine.

Or is this a suggestion to boycott them because of the satirical lyrics in the song "Good Bye Earl"? A song which is about killing a repeated wife beater after he ignores the restraining order and puts his ex-wife in intensive care. When the situation is kill or be killed...what would anyone of us do in that extreme circumstance? Besides, this song is satire...it's not an instruction manual. And it's not Christian...so it doesn't have to appologize for not being Christian.

I happen to like them. Their lead singer has about the best vocals I've ever heard. Besides, If I boycott everyone who didn't believe like me... I would have to boycott the B.B. too. ;)

I do not own any of their CDs but I did listen to their songs on country radio before I went totally to bluegrass.

The song about a woman killing her husband with the help of a friend is only after the husband beat her to a pulp so that she ended up in the hospital and the authorities weren't doing their job.

They are by no means a gospel group so if you want to listen to gospel music they are not the direction to go.

Lets think this over a minute! The Dixie Chicks get on the air and pop off at the mouth and blab their sillyness before America--OK!--they have a right! But the way I figure it--it would be different if, say, somebody with the mentality of Albert Einstein to pop off about the President! I mean, you've got to consider the source!! Three women with IQ's in the negative factor--you put their mentality together in the gas tank of an ant's motorcycle and it won't make it halfway around a Bee-bee!

The Dixie Chicks are one small part of the shame of the United States! They make my stomach "churn"--and I ain't gonna be hungry for any of their CD's! Total disrespect for the President of the United States and the patriotic citizens of the great state of Texas!

Long live President George W. Bush!

Bad musicianship, bad songs, over-produced albums, yet another group of girls getting musical credit for their good-looks. I boycotted them long before any comment about our prez was made.

    Hey, Sister Wisdom!

What was meant by your remark? If they have a right to lambast the United States President--don't I have a right to say what I think about them?? Regardless of who likes who? Claiming that three useless women have negative IQ's, popping off at the mouth about our President--The Word of God gives me the right to say that the little girls are shameless, could care less, and has total desrespect for the highest office in the United States--and I don't have not "truck" for folks who use language flippantly degrading the President--I don't believe that even Paul or Peter ever made any derogatory remarks even of Nero in their day!! And if someone blasts the highest office in the daylight hours--what will they blast in the dark??????? And no matter how many CD's one will buy from the Dixie Chicks--given a chance--they'll lambast you, too! To me, the way they feel about the President--I take it to mean they feel the same way about ole Blackbird, too! Honor the King! In our case, its the President of the United States! Long live the United States of America! Long live President George W. Bush!

Your brother in the Lord Jesus Christ,
    Blackbird
