We have a Christian in the White House.....

So? If you continue reading, you'll see not only a shot of the entire nativity scene that is displayed in the White House, but examples of Bush's faith being displayed through his speeches. We are not a theocracy, and I would hope that Bush doesn't act like he is a theocratic leader. I'm perfectly happy with the way he is going about Christmas publically. I do hope that he worships Christ personally this Christmas season, and I believe that he does.

 

Personally,

I voted for him because of his political views and not because of his religious views. IMO, most Americans did not vote for him based primarily on religious reasons. I think some of the key issues were:

1. The War against Terror
2. Tax Cuts
3. Supreme Court
4. I do think many were also repulsed by John Kerry (I do think the Swift Vets made a difference politically) and by the elitism of the liberal left in Hollywood (Michael Moore, etc...), and the far left (Moveon.org). These people don't relate well with middle America and the South who are the people who handed the election to Bush.

Certainly, family and religious values did play a part in this election, but I don't think they were the primary issues in the campaign.

Just my opinion.

It would be nice for him to do that, I agree. It is not, however, the reason I elected him, or his job to be an evangelist. That would be my job and the job of people like my pastor. I didn't personally elect a pastor, I elected a political leader for political reasons.

Without starting anything, I think people are making a big deal about Dec 25th and the birth of Eesho M'sheekha! I don't understand why people think he was born on or around this date anyway, because the bible clearly gives one the month he was born if you'd understand when the Course of Abijah was served by Zechariah. Also there are so many Nativity Scenes, that I'm amazed that people are not confused: Shepards no Magi, Shepard and Magi, Magi no Shepard.

Eesho M'sheekha asked us to do one (1) thing in rememberance of him, one thing! All else is tradition and lack of knowledge of the scriptures if you ask me. It serves nothing and honors not my Lord and My God Eesho.

The story of the OP is a lie. There is, indeed, a nativity scene at the White House, and it's not hidden.

Also, during the lighting of the White House Christmas Tree, the ceremony started with an invocation and prayer, and the opening song wsa "Go Tell it on the Mountain that Jesus Christ is born".

I have on two occaisions this year, heard Bush mention the birth of the Christ Child in regards to Christmas.

"Virtually invisible" is one of those phrases that isn't very quantifiable, and is an editorial comment instead of one of fact. Having seen a picture of the White House nativity, I can tell you that it isn't "virtually invisible."
