No. The abstinence on Fridays is from beef, poultry, and chicken. Animal meat, of which the Eucharist isn't. Christ is not an animal, therefore it doesn't apply to human flesh.

As to the issue of communion, that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish!!

 

Partaking of the Eucharist by a catholic is NOT THE SAME as eating meat. And if it is the same in some abstract sense, there are obvious reasons for making an exception in this one case.
