I don't think "subordinate" or the lack thereof is really a concept of the Godhead. I can't really answer yes, and I can't really answer no.

That may have been one reason He prayed, as in the Lord's Prayer, but at other times, He was genuinely talking to His Father. In becoming a man, Jesus had taken on a different nature from the Godhead. HE had both at the same time, but while He was subjecting Himself to the limitations of human existence, He had to converse with the Father by prayer like everyone else. He was both God and man, both one and at the same time distinct, and the modalism one or two of you seem to be advocating (without calling it that) turns this into a charade. Then, when pressed on this many oneness go on to separate the human nature of Christ from the divine nature, and end up with a purely non-divine, unitarian Jesus (like the Way, Christadelphians, etc) united with God.

It seems to me, IF there is only one God, and not 3 in 1 then we have a scitzophrenic Jesus talking to himself.

Of course we all know that is NOT true!!

So, IF it can be shown that there are three eternal beings would you believe it whether you understand it or not??

Just a question,----does anybody have any answer or comment?

John 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

John 9:38 "And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him."

If a true worshipper is only supposed to worship the Father, why did Jesus Christ accept worship? Why didn't he stop people from worshipping him?

Because He is "..KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." ---One God!

    Rev.19:16

    16) And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

    BTW, that name is Jesus.

    John 1:1-4 ~
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Jesus is the Word, and He was the Son of God, and was God. Also the Father is God that Jesus prayed to in the garden of "Gethsemane" (which means "oil press") and the Holy Ghost that the Father filled Him with that dwells in us when we get saved......(1John 4:12-13) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
Does that help show/explain the trinity? [IMG]

I asked a question earlier, but I'm not sure anybody wants my answer.

    Here it is again:

So, IF it can be shown that there are three eternal beings would you believe it whether you understand it or not??

    MEE,

Yes, Jesus is King, Lord and God.

    music4Him,

You said Jesus is the Word, was the Son of God and was God. Then you quote 1John 4:12-13. God was seen when he manifest in flesh. For me, this doesn't help explain the trinity to me.

    tamborine lady,

If you can show that there are 3 distinct eternal beings then I would investigate further.

Who raised the body of Jesus?

    The following scriptures will explain.

John 2-19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

So by looking at this scripture, Jesus raised His own body.

    The next one is:

    1st Thes. 1-9 For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

So God raised the body of Jesus!!

    next:

Rom. 8-11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

So the Spirit raised the body of Jrsus!!

If Jesus raised the body, and God raised the body, and the Spirit raised the body, then they all must be one whether we understand it or not.

And at the same time they are three different beings.

    So:

Within the nature of the one God, there are three eternal beings. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

    Ok HisMercy
Well tell me this who do you think the Holy Ghost is that Jesus promised he would send when he was talking about leaving (in John 16:5-16)? Who do you think the Father that Jesus is teaching how to pray (in Matt.65-15) is. Who do you think is the Word that John speaks of in John 1:1-2 that I quoted? Then go back to Genesis 1:1 and tell me if you don't see three manifestations of God. [IMG]

    tamborine lady,

Father, Son & Holy Ghost are not names of 3 different persons. Those are titles that are held by one being that manifests himself in various forms. That is why in Acts, Paul and Peter clearly baptize in the name of Jesus because the name Jesus covers Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

    music4Him,

Look at this and allow the scriptures to answer your question.

John 14:15-18 "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

Jesus said in Matthew 28:20 "I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." He keeps his promise not in the flesh but as Spirit he does. Jesus says he is the truth. Surely he is the Spirit of truth. Jesus says in John the Spirit of truth dwells with(present tense) you and will be in you. He does now dwell in his chosen in Spirit form. He says I(HE) will come to you. Not another distinct person.

    HisMercy,

    Read the following scripture:

17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Now tell me, when did God die?? He never did, but Jesus did, so there must be at least 2!!

Then in this scripture that you just posted;John 14:15-18 "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." you prove that there is a comforter that JESUS asked the FATHER to send , so that makes three!!

    How can anyone miss that?

    Working for Jesus,

    Tam

    tamborine lady and music4Him,

Hebrews 9:16 says "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator." If he didn't die, then what was the resurrection about? Your comment that God didn't die but Jesus did sounds like you're saying Jesus was not and is not God. Is that true?

Neither of you addressed the obvious in John 14. Jesus repeats the usage of the word "I" in verse 18 not he or someone else. How did the Spirit of truth dwell WITH them when this was before the Day of Pentecost? You say Jesus asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit. Reconcile that with John 16:7 "..the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, "I" will send him unto you." and John 20:22 "And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:"

1Cor. 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

Before you ask, how can anyone miss that?, search the scriptures and let the Holy Ghost do the teaching.

    No---I---am----not----saying-----that---Jesus---is---not---God!!!

I am trying to show you the trinity, and you can't see the forest for the trees

It's right in front of you.

    The scripture you posted says:

John 14:15-18 "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

    Look at this closely:

    1. I will ask the Father (this is Jesus saying He will ask the Father.)

    2. and He will give you another comforter(this is Jesus saying the Father will send the Holy Ghost)

    3. There are 3 beings here, I know you can see that!!!

Which leads us back to what I said before. Within the nature of the one God there are 3 eternal beings: Father, Son, And Holy Ghost

    Working for Jesus,

    Tam
