    Since I can't find I Am Blessed 16, I shall start this thread. As you may noticed, Sherrie is taking an R&R and in her absence we do not want to start a new "The Coffee House #14." When she returns, she can continue the threads she started. In the mean while, we will have the Common Ground Coffee House #01, hosted by Sue, and you can come in, take your shoes off your feet and just have a grand old time.

    Brother Ed, Edifier, started to stock up your favorite drink in the other partial thread, so I am sure he can do so over here as well! How about it, Brother Edifier?! [​IMG]

    A work-related devotional(based on Matt 11:28-30)

    Could God be trying to get my attenetion thru my work? Right now, until I start teaching this fall, I am still an inventory auditor. This is not a 9-5 40 hour a week job, but at times it feels like it; while other times hours are hard to come by. Monday was one of those days where I felt like I was working 40 hours in one day . To give you an idea of what happened, I left Jackson at 7am Monday morning to inventory McRae's in Tupelo, MS, and did not return to Jackson until 7am Tuesday Morning . Especially as the inventory came close to finishing, I got really frustrated. My back, legs, and chest started hurting, and the sheer enorminty of the store made me wonder if we were ever gonna be finished :confused: Reading from Genesis 3, I know that work-related stress is a by-product of the Fall, so I had somewhat of an explanation of my fatigue. But last night the Lord led me to the verses I referenced in Matthew's gospel, and once again I gently responded to His invitation to receive pure spiritual rest.

    I don't understand why this thread has to be started by a specific person. I saw that you didn't allow Edifier to start it. Why Sue? It looks as if you are filling a job. It looks very peculiar to me.

    Charlotte; I hope you don't mind. I guess Barnabas picked me because I am able to be on here more than Ed. You will have to ask him. I hope you will continue to come in...

    I hope everyone will join me in this new thread to keep the friendships we have established with each other alive and well. As Christians, we are all on 'common ground' here.

    Our specialty is donuts. We have also added crumpets, bagels, homemade cookies and homemade pies.

    If you don't see your drink of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

    ExxonMobil, I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel exhausted, because my job doesn't have an 8 to 4 or 5 to 9 element in it. At times I feel that it is 24 x 7. But you know, the Lord always give just enough strength and grace. He knows all our needs, and He satisfies them all. The blessings of the Lord to you! [​IMG]

    UPDATE ON MISSIONARIES BEING HELD CAPTIVE IN AFRICA.

    I received this email this morning.

    Our dear friends, Bryan and Cheri Stensaas, have been surrounded within the city of Soroti, Uganda by rebels since Thursday, June 22nd. The rebels are after the preachers and missionaries. The other Stensaas, Keith and Matt have supposedly escaped safely to where Andrew is which is Mbale (I think). I am asking for your continued prayers for God's Will and Intervention.

    Sue, there's a program that Clint told us about a while back that's just GREAT for resizing pictures! It's called IrfanView. The download is very small, and the program quite simple to use. [​IMG]
    Small or large, I'll take a raised sugar donut. :D Please! What else goes with a donut but milk? Is that on your menu?

    Ed, DDP is NOT my favorite drink, and diet ANYTHING is my least favorite, although once in a very great while I used to drink it.
    It was a certain preacher's favorite drink and I wanted to see is she knew who that was. [​IMG]
    Besides, I've given up on caffeine for the most part, although I will admit I've had an occasional indulgence about three times since I quit.
    Next attempt will be to give up sugared drinks!

    Hello everyone, Ed is working his "second" job and will be here to stock the drinks soon. He may be a little late today, but he will be here.

    Sue, do you need any pictures for the walls? I have lots to get "rid" of. Let me know what I can do to help.

    I also have some extra tables and chairs if you need them. Are you going to have a kids corner for the Moms when they visit. I might even have some extra toys.

    Hi Betty! Since we are just starting out, we will take anything you have! Yes, there is a 'children's corner'. That's why I added milk, Kool-Aid and cookies to the menu. [​IMG]


    Jimmy: Irn-Bru is a soda pop. It was requested by Jon (from Scotland) so we keep it in stock. Ed is in charge of the drinks, he may be able to tell you more than I can about it. He should be here soon.

    MY 'dumb question' for the day.

    I downloaded IrfanView and resized some pictures, but I can't get the URL (properties) to post them. :confused:

    Can anyone help me out here?
