Thank you, Sister Wife Thankful [IMG]

Tonight our pastor explained this verse [IMG]

    Isaiah 37:36 (KJV1769):
Then the angel of the LORD went forth,
and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a
hundred and fourscore and five thousand (185,000):
and when they arose early in the morning
behold, they were all dead corpses
    .

    of course [IMG]
the first "they" refers to the citizens of
    the City of Jerusalem;
the second "they" refers to the Assyrian
soldiers: "when the citizens of Jerusalem
    arose early in the morning
behold, the camp of the Assyrians were
    all dead corpses".

What a peaceful Sunday afternoon. Family in our church had a baby Saturday and it was life-flighted to Denver. So in middle of AM Service Pastor looks at me and says he felt constrained to be with them (5 hour drive) so would I preach this evening.

Like saying "sic 'em" to a hungry dog. So spent 12-4 getting prepared. Then anniversary dinner out for mother-in-law at 4, church at 6 and we have a home missionary with 5 kids 7 and under, so we took them to dinner (Wendy's).

And FINALLY home (last 4 minutes of football) and the wife immediately got out the puke pink and started painting.

    Sigh.

    Good Morning All,

It was another up and down night in the recliner, but for all that, I think I got a little more rest than I have been. My rib cage (front and back) is SO sore from coughing.

    I will be back later.

Brother - don't be too surprised when you get home - if your wife has done more to the kitchen than you think she is going to do!!!

New cupboards maybe, new floor covering, the skies the limit - with you off for four days!!

Dr. Terry Wright preached for us yesterday. I remember the sermon quite well. He preached on Job and Barnabas (the son of encouragement). Quite good! And who in the world thinks we need to be out by noon? I think it was about 12:20 when I walked out the door. He let us go earlier than Bro. Alan used to.

A young woman Nick and I have been praying for accepted Jesus and joined our church this week. She's been involved in drugs and has two little kids. I took Nick through to shake her hand and we told her we had called her name, every night at 9:00, for God to touch her and bring her to Jesus. Nick cried and so did Nancy. [IMG]

I heard two wonderful sermons on Saturday. I want to start a discussion on one of them when I have the time to get out the notes and word it correctly but I'll let you know it's on Train Up and what those words mean.

Hope everyone is doing great today. Sue and Gib, Gayla and Elnora, Biblebelieving Bill.... consider yourselves prayed for!

Dan!!! Does Jan subscribe to Bob Vela? Or Norm Abrams?? Of do they look to her for all of their "woodly" advise!!??

I worked a wood floor and paint contractor out of high school--and no matter how lovely the joints are jointed--if there is a run in the paint or the varnish--its wasted!! Tell her Blackbird says, "Don't 'Run' the paint! Don't 'run' the varnish!"--start at the top of the cabinet/door and work your way down with the brush--real slowly and carefully! Tell her that Blackbird thinks that way--slowly and carefully!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Your Southern Baptist preachin', paintin' "know-it-all" buddy,
    Blackbird

    Good morning all.
Sue, hope your feeling better soon. Those recliners don't sleep that well when you have to spend the whole night in them.

Morning to all! I preached on Jeremiah 12:5 "If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?" (Outline in the pastor's forum)

If you think things are tough now, JUST WAIT . . so today I'm waiting. Know that whatever happens, God is 100% in control. Wonder what GOOD will come from what I perceive as evil?

Dr. Bob, thanks again for linking me to the map sites. I ran up to church and picked up the visitor cards from Sunday and have printed out the directions to their homes for tomorrow night. I was able to do all the cards except 3 which are in new subdivisions. One or our church secretaries is looking those up in some real estate map books the church bought. I got some fall post cards for the little kids. The ones the church has are so 'grown up' looking.

I am sort of tired this afternoon. I thought I had an ear infection but ran over to Nick's pediatrician (because I have no insurance and he see's uninsured for only $24.00). I have an air bubble behind my ear drum from either allergies or sinus from all this ragweed. He gave me free samples of Zyrtec, ear drops but I had to buy some amoxicillin. Only $7.88 tho.... :D

Sure hope Sue and Gib snap out of these lung problems and feel great really soon! :(

Blackbird, I put my question and thoughts under Bible Theology/ Study. Dr. Morgan also used this verse against abortion:

    Ecclesiates 11:5
As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

Both of the sermons we heard were 45-50 minute teachings (actual preaching time... not full service time) in the middle of classes! I was on overload and am still tired but WOW! Our AWANA missionary, Brian Crowe (notice the last name), put on a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful training!

    Evening all;

I am going to try the bed tonight for awhile, the recliner is killing me. I will stay in bed as long as I can, then move to the recliner.

The Asst. Chief of Police took one look at me today and told me I'd better forget about starting my new job tomorrow and aim for Wednesday or Thursday (Thank you Lord)!

Thank you again for all your prayers and well wishes....I can sure tell someone is praying!

Let's remember Gib in our prayers too. He is far from being well as they're not sure what's wrong with him at this point.

    Pleasant Dreams all...
