Camping is most infamous for his 1994 date for Christ's return. This, he began pitching right as the Korean group's 1992 date came and went. He did not learn from that, and even emphasized in his book "1994" that God had "forbidden knowledge" that man was always trying to uncover, not realizing that was just what he was doing! So ironic.
Also ironic was how the fundamentalistic Chirstians I was getting involved in, who lambasted the "deception" in the modern Church (including CCM, as well as charismaticism, modern versions, etc), would then listen to his radio station because of the conservative music!

In a lot of cases CCM stations are more selective about the preachers they will allow on their station, but it's the more traditional stations that will let on any crackpot that claims to be a preacher as long as they flash enough money in the station management's face.

Yes, and mainstream teachers are use to legitimize CCM.

I once worked at a Christian Radio station. The policy on music and ministry programs very simply was: You pay, you play.
My goodness we even had Tony Alamo

Before I knew who Tony Alamo was, I used to buy my stage clothes from his store down on Broadway (LoBro) in Nashville.

Say what you will about his theology but he was one heck of a tailor.

I'm still trying to find someone who can make "Nudie"-style western jackets.

i myself enjoy listening to the American Family Radio. i think it has a good balance between music, today's issues, and preaching and teaching.
