    I use the New King James Version and the New American Standard. Why? Because they translate God's preserved Word in a literal form. They avoid the use of archaic and obsolete words that are no longer used in the English language.

    I love my NKJV, because it's nice having the error free, fully authoritative preserved word of God conveniently available in a language I can understand without all those obsolete words and archaic verb endings. [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]

    If I could only have one version and never another, I would pick the NKJV. The reason is because it includes in its footnotes the variations between the texts.

    The version I prefer to use is the ESV. I do like the NASB also.

    When you are in England, you would find A.V. Bible (KJV) there. :rolleyes:

    But the English term "Lucifer"
    (from Latin - light bringer)
    carries the Roman Catholic heresy
    that Satan's name is "Luciferf".
    The two word term "Day Star" does
    not carry this unnecessary baggage.

    In fact, Jesus is the True
    Day Star (Rev 22:16). Meanwhile,
    the chief devil,
    the accuser (Satan) has names enough.
    Satan" is the name of the chief devil,
    not his title.

    the Thomas Nelson facsimile"

    Me also, my third favorite is the facsimile
    of the KJV1611. I use it to slay KJVO
    errors :D

    My second favorite Bible is the
    nKJV I use for private devotions.

    My favorite Bible is my KJV1769.
    I use it to study my Sunday School lesson,
    teach my men's Sunday School class,
    to follow along in Church. My pastor
    frequently quotes it or reads from it
    (but changes some words to more
    modern termonology).

    I need to break in my four barrelled
    Bible: KJV1873, NASB, NIV, NLT. A
    Bible is no good until the best verses
    are underlined. [​IMG]
