There are 3 major views within the church on rapture which are: 1 Pre-Tribulation 2 Mid Tribulation 3 Post Tribulation.

You need to note the pre-wrath rapture position, which is gaining among some progressive dispys.

    Major...

Yeah...but Pre-Wrath is pretty much Mid-Trib with a cooler name and a little more scholarship.

And a great Financier in the late Bob Van Kampen.

(I am pre-trib by the way, but...) Pre-wrath is much closer to post-trib, since they hold that the rapture takes place about 45 days from the Glorious Appearing. They also have a pretty good preacher and organizer in Marv Rosenthal. I have heard him in person (back when he was pre), and he was one of the best preachers I ever heard.

This theread, and 'quiz' pre supposes a pre-millennial view of the return of Jesus. Not all accept that, and as such the "no rapture" option is valid, seeing the rapture as a part of the almost instantanious events happening at the return of Jesus.

How about in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, just as the coordinates are punched in for a nuclear attack from N. Korea or China?

    Just a thought.... ;)

Nah. We're talking about the Blessed Hope, not a dismal hopelessness

The Resurrection is the Blessed Hope, not a rapture.

Acts 24:15 - "I have a hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust."

Acts 26:6-8 - "And now I am standing trial for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers; the promise to which our twelve tribes hope to attain... And for this hope, O king, I am being accused by the Jews. Why is it considered incredible among you if God does raise the dead?"

None of the above, I am a "Last Day" resurrectionist. [IMG]

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

The verse about the "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13) does not say anything about pretrib rapture. It says we're looking for the blessed hope, (and?) the the glorious appearing of Christ. The glorious appearing is the "epiphaneia". It is the "epiphaneia" that destroyes the son of perdition (2 Thess 2:8), and when Christ judges the living and the dead (2 Tim 4:1). Our "blessed hope" is simply being with Christ, even though it is when he returns and not 7 years earlier.

First, the phrase is "The Last Day" - singular.

Second, since the resurrection has not happened yet it is still in the future (You said "when WERE" past tense.)

Answer: I don't know when the "Last Day" will be, but He will raise me up anyway.

It doesn't depend on my knowing when but upon His ability to keep His promise.

for those who noticed the absence, the fourth view most popular in the church is myth; the rapture is a myth......I would rather look for that blessed hope of His return in power and in glory.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Sounds like we need to redo the poll to include the - "no rapture" option. I remember a seminary professor responding to a student's quesion about the rapture. "We won't be discussing it. This is a biblical theology class." :D

For whatever its worth to anyone the word "rapture" is supposed to have been derived from the Latin Vulgate of several NT passages

KJV 2 Corinthians 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

VUL 2 Corinthians 12:2 scio hominem in Christo ante annos quattuordecim sive in corpore nescio sive extra corpus nescio Deus scit raptum eiusmodi usque ad tertium caelum

KJV Revelation 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

VUL Revelation 12:5 et peperit filium masculum qui recturus erit omnes gentes in virga ferrea et raptus est filius eius ad Deum et ad thronum eius

KJV 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

VUL 1 Thessalonians 4:17 deinde nos qui vivimus qui relinquimur simul rapiemur cum illis in nubibus obviam Domino in aera et sic semper cum Domino erimus

OK, The Last Day is the last day of the Last Days.

When were the Last Days? Lets see what the writer of Hebrews says:

    Hebrews 1
2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.

So the question is last days of what? The bible clearly refers to the last days as the last days of the Old Covenant.
