Thanks, all. I'll be around, but it looks like (due to work requirements) it'll be much less than it used to be.

Ernie Brazee and Maverick, Thanks for putting it straight forward. Many do not agree with what you have said but the truth is the truth.

WOW! I read both pages of this forum. And, WOW!

I am a new Christian, but I see how the Lord has changed me since March of this year.

I never went to church and when I read the Bible, I read the NIV. Things in my life were a wreck. The very Sunday I went to church, I got saved. My life has been changed ever since. I have done a lot of research on the Bible I used to read. The only Bible I read now is "old faithful-KJV".

It is so good to hear that there are preachers out there actually preaching THE WORD. They are not worried about "stepping on toes". We believe what we believe because it is the truth.

Since I do not go to a Fundamental Baptist Church, I would not know how to answer this. I am also a KJVO. However, I sometimes read the New Living Translation to compare on how much the words have gotten mixed up.

Just to share some of God's blessings.

We got our church auditorium remodeled to the tune of approximately $200,000. It started in the fall and was completed in early January. We praise God for insurance.

Someone drilled us a new well: Approx. cost...$10,000 we were charged $1,500 & that's all.

We have seen many souls saved and folks baptized into our local church.

We just started a T.V. program for the low cost of $40 for 1/2 hour. The first one just ran last Tuesday. We are praying for souls saved through this.

One youg man in our church, home from the summer from Hyles/Anderson College is winning souls and is a blessing to us.

We are getting a couple - just moving here - to work with our teens.

Our Faith Promise conference showed a 15% increase over last year and we will be adding 4-5 missionaries soon. They are missionaries that have already been to our church.

Our Sunday School attendance has increased approximately 37-40% in the past couple years. The church house is full each Sunday with a few exceptions. We do need more seating.

We have 5 wonderful deacons that are a tremendous help to me. They are terrific examples of what Biblical deacons ought to be.

I am thankful that God led me here and that He does it all, using me and our church folks.

These are just a few of the blessings. With all of the sinful things going on in this world, I just felt led to share some blessings.

Perhaps you could share some blessings also and let us encourage each other.

I've been in the same church all my life, but since getting saved I've grown really close to all of them. What really hurts is watching some leave. Our church is very small compared to what it used to be, but I'm so thankful my preacher still preaches the same. I'm so glad he's kept the standards. No church is perfect because people aren't perfect, but I'm thankful for the old fashioned churches we have left.
Yeah, it's hard. Some people in our community don't even want to speak to us when we go on visitation because of what church we are from. Some of my own family thinks I'm "a fanatic", but that's alright, because I have a whole new family!
yeah some think we're odd because of what we teach, and beleive, but all we're just teaching God's word. Really no surprise people don't want to hear it. I mean in the last days folks aren't going to want sound doctrine. I think it's sad that people would rather beleive a lie than the truth, but all we can do is go out and try to win souls and deciple them.
I guess it shouldn't surprise us that we aren't the most liked because we teach right. It is sad though.
But I sure am thankful for those of you that do take a stand for the Lord. That ya'll havn't comromised what's right. Praise God for you!
Don't ever compromise because the world don't like it. Just stand all the more!
I pray God would give us some young people like that. I don't know what my generation will do for godly preachers and churches if we don't see more take a stand.
Just remember all that live godly will suffer persecution. We may not suffer like the apostles and early Christians did, but the animosity is still there. I think our Lord is coming soon, and I for one, can't wait to see my Saviour, and those gone before me!

Being a IFB I get alot of negative remarks. They cannot understand "why" I read only the KJV. When I try to explain they just roll their eyes.
When they say or do things totally opposite of what the Word of God says, they find some reason to substantiate their choice.
I used to belong to a Christian Chamber of Commerce made up of business people who were supposedly all Bible believing Christians. I left when they started accepting Catholics as members.
When I tried to explain that Catholics are not saved people, they totally thought I was being hateful.
As it is said, if we truly follow God's Word and are truly following Him, we will be persecuted and alienated. I take comfort in knowing that Jesus, Paul and others were cast out also.
I will not compromise on the instructions of my Saviour and I will only follow the Word of KJV.

Jesus said, "Go, tell, baptize, teach..."
We can go and tell but if they do not want to listen...then that's their decision...we've done our job...we told.

Its hard being true to the Word these days, especially in church. I too, would love to be in a church like yours. We dont fit in the world or the church..were in Fundamentalist Pergatory..rofl BUT I take heart....in the Bible it says there will be people like us....and if were narrow minded, were on a narrow road! The Prophecy conferences have really wonderful attendees.....they take you are you are and understand the Word...not a list of dos and donts. There are many different type of people there..and we all get along famously!! Our connection? We know the Word of God. We are Bereans. We Rightly Divide the Word of Truth. I think that has gone out of style.

    Spiritual Anemia.

For umpteen years now, I've believed that we've helped to develop spiritually anemic individuals in our God-given scope because we've attempted to cram our concept of IFB theology into their hearts and minds.

We've helped to develop a world of co-dependent Christians. I know this is a generalization. As pastors/shepherds, we should be living the Word, spending time with members of our flock (especially the most reviling ones), and allowing the Holy Spirit to use us.

Take heart that attacks against you are most likely Satan's attempts to derail your shepherding efforts.

Father, forgive us for trusting in man; Our lives are Yours to do as YOU can.

    David

I think the issue is much more like the question: If Henry Ford were living today would he rather have one good running Ford or 1000 in the junk yard. So many talk about numbers. I have seen those numbers and have seen few who actually get down to business with God. A friend of mine who was a missionary in Ehtiopia before and after communism was shocked when he returned over 20 years later. He told me about how his children struggled because of how unfirendly the Christians were in America nd how much the sermons had gone down. When persecution comes, fundamentalism and liberalism will not be topics. God will shine forth in those who are His.
