How much can the U.S. endure??

Of course, Florida is in the path. Current predictions say it will hit as a Category 3.

Florida Governor Jeb Bush has declared a state of emergency. I live just across the border in Georgia so I am in the projected path too, but it should only be a Category 1 storm by then.

 

How much can the U.S. endure? Do you really want to find out?

 

We are already starting to feel the effects as far north as Orlando. All schools in Central Florida are closed tomorrow and already tonight we have had severe thunderstorms and tornados. The storm should reach land, around dawn, near Naples, Fl.

 

Yeah, the wind is pickin up, had rain all day. As if hurricanes aren't bad enough , tornados come with them. Hopefully the power outage won't be too bad with this one.

Thanks for the prayers. It has been nasty here all day. A lot of downed tree branches and such. A few tornados also. We have inland tropical storm winds here in Orlando. I am thanking the Lord we have not lost power or anything this year. They are still urging people to stay off the roads, although some people are not listening. A semi-truck was blown off of I-4 and is causing a big hassle for rescue crews and emergency officials. Tropical storm force winds are not nearly as bad as hurricane force winds, but they are still very dangerous. The wind is an even 25-35 miles per hour with gusts of 65-70 miles per hour. Definitely not something you want to be outside in if you don't have to. This morning around five or so we had twice as many accidents as usual. That is when things were really starting to pick up. A lot of people still had to go to work downtown (Orlando). All government offices and such were closed, but many private sector employees had to go, regardless of the fact the city wanted people off the streets.

They were showing footage from Naples on the afternoon news and they did not fair as well. I pray for all of the people in the path in South Florida, and the rebuilding process they will go through.

 

My children are ok! Praise the Lord.

And thank y'all for the prayers. We came through it pretty good praise God. We still have the wind but nothing major.
I hope and pray the people south of us come through it good too.

 

Job asked the same question. Look where it got him. Don't get me wrong, these things are awful, but they're an unfortunately normal part of life. Job got through it, and so will we.

BTW, I heard from my relatives in the Tampa area. They're fine. In fact, they didn't seem overly concerned. Whassupwiddat?

 

Because of where she came in, it wasn't too bad for that area. I'm about 35 minutes away from Tampa. So we didn't get the hurricane force winds just the tropical storm winds. Plus living here we're used to these storms. Just go with the flow.

 

Good point, Rachel. I guess that would be like us in SoCal getting an earthquake. The typical response to an earthquake is "Was that a quake? Waiter, more water please."

 

LOL Yeah, and that would freak people out that aren't used to them, it would me.
